No its not. I don't even think its available for the army yet. All I have seen are concepts, prototypes and test mules.
The things look like American Humvee

The SUV on the right of axe (left corner) looks like a bastard child of Kaiser M715 ..I don't get the feeling these Storme/Scorpio are for replacement of the Gypsy in the field but as General purpose Vehicles for officers and some logistical roles. The Storme and Scorpio are too "soft" for the majority of frontline combat roles IMHO and Tata and Mahindra need to pull their fingers out to produce more militarised versions.
I think the Gypsys in frontline roles, though, are intended to be replace by the light Support Vehicles, LSVs (Mahindra AXE and the like) but god knows where that program is, trails where held many years back and since then almost no forward movement.

Tata has even sold (well part of GoI aid) some to the Seychelles:

Meh what's so customised about that? Chopped off back, roof rack,a winch and a front bumper?I kinda like the Scorpio Getaway more.
Here is Gul Panag's custom modified adventure rig .....

It was designed by Israelis .. And I've been hearin about it since years.. A little modifications it would look really nice..The things look like American Humvee

I like this indian guys modification (what's the engine capacity of Scorpio )
Sir the Getaway (like the Tata Xenon) is a pickup - either single or double cab. So that is not back chopped away. It comes from factory like that.
Its got a ton of stuff. Raised suspension. Hi lift snow/slush jacks (rails). Roof tent. storage racks and boxes - all collapsible and on rollers to save space. Front and side and back ARB bumpers. Motorized winch. Snorkel. Expedition rack. Lot of other stuff.
Guy who does it is a surd in Mumbai. A fellow Bulleteer. This vehicle was used for one of the TV travel and adventure series she did. There was a more detailed technical article of the mods somewhere. Maybe on team-bhp.
Man .. Mine is legal .. Although you can get a unregistered one from baluchistan-Afghanistan border for as low as 7-8 lac... But it's useless .. At max you can only drive it in your remote isolated village lol..@DESERT FIGHTER
Nice to hear about your mods bro. Would love to see some photos. I am quite the stock guy myself for all my vehicles. Cars and bikes.
I really envy you guys (Pakistanis and Afghans) for having such easy access to the Hilux. Wish we had it here. I love that vehicle and black is my favorite color too! Though a total bitch to maintain. I know. Our Storme is black and each of us brothers gets saddled with duty in rotation to wash and dry her. Which is a good 2 hour exercise.
the insides of Scorpio is pretty cramped. Any one above 5'10 will feel his leg cramped after 1 hr drive. Storm is much better but i don't like the new front look. Old safari looks were much better.I kinda like the Scorpio Getaway more.

I know a guy who hiugh at wrangler 2009 for 10-11 lac back in 09.. He and others had unregistered vehicles got saved when the PPP govt started a campaign to registering ..unregistered/smuggled vehicles by taxing (limited time offer haha)... And at that time car smugglers got filthy rich selling unregistered vehicles at double the rates ..

Sounds a lot like our superbike grey market that got busted a few years ago.
Agreed. The Scorpio is frankly an overgrown Jeep. The Safari a true blue SUV.
Best Safari look is the one which is part of the President's fleet. The same one as the middle easter country Safari posted by @acetophenol a few pages ago.
Classic!
