At 1400 tonnes these are light subs but the packages seems to be impressive and the total price of $1.02 billion means $255 million a pop which is great. Are these intended for littoral waters? and does the deal include ToT?

Not too light lah, as they had good range and acceptable endurance at open seas, but yes many countries using Type 209 subs are coastal or regional power like Turkey, Egypt, South Korea, and so on.

Yeah it depends on the type of propulsion system (AIP or not)
Because PNS made a deal for some subs but those are 3000 tonnes class

South Korea has the biggest shipbuilding industry in the world. Thats a wonderful achievement.
Shipbuilding and submarine building are very different.

Well we already got chance to build this sub in Indonesia as we already preparing Submarine assembly plant, de gaussing equipment, presurrized ring equipment and so on. It just Indonesia need long time to build support industry to provide vital component like Engine, Navigation system, Radar and so on.

I'm glad you are aware of it. I am not talking about submarine.
The thread is about submarines ... these are the machines intended for submersible tasks.
