This is national security legislation, not an ASEAN ban, and certainly nothing like Trump's Muslim ban for example. If they have cousins, sisters, daughters, etc. working in HK as maids, their loved ones are not at risk of being kicked out of the territory, and there is no threat to their remittance streams. HKers have a strong preference for hard-working and obedient dark-skinned domestic servants, even CCP would think twice before daring to cut it off.

You are ignorant of HK Basic Law. PLA is already deployed in HK and operates a garrison there because defence and foreign relations have never been entrusted to HK govt under 1C2S. And PLA never did, and is not going to do, wealth confiscation against rich whites or Chinese in HK, and nor will it stop them from enslaving and keeping dark-skinned ASEAN maids. This national security law will not disturb their existing economic prerogatives. It will only stop blackshirt thugs, rioters, terrorists, foreign agents, etc. And you should know, many of them mistreat and abuse their dark-skinned maids terribly when they run back to their apartments after riot police arrive.

Law enforcement is delegated to the local government, but PLA can always intervene in a state of emergency as a last resort. The national security law changes nothing about basic relations, it only fulfills art. 23 of Basic Law which was supposed to be HK government's responsibility anyway. But the same cannot be said for colonial Hong Kong, where Brits implemented a race hierarchy based on white > yellow > brown skin color rankings. PLA never intervened even during chaos and terror initiated by blackshirt thugs, rioters, foreign agents during disturbances last year. Local HK police and law enforcement have shown they are capable of dealing with the unrest without causing any deaths. NSL is simply to plug legal loopholes abused by rioters to escape jail sentences and preserve the rule of law. If I'm wrong and PLA does crackdown just like the alarmist white journalists keep saying will happen, you can tag me and demand my apology.
