KHABAROVSK, November 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Eastern Military District (EMD) plans to conduct international naval exercises with India and Japan in 2015, EMD representative Alexander Gordeev told journalists Friday.

"These are joint Russian-Indian naval exercises Indra-2015 and joint Russian-Japanese naval exercises SAREX-2015. The areas where the drills will be conducted, participants, goals and objectives will be agreed and approved by EMD representatives and naval forces of the participating countries next year at several conferences," Gordeev said.

In July, Russia and India conducted naval exercise Indra-2014 in the Sea of Japan.

In October, joint Russian-Japanese SAREX (Search and Rescue Exercise) drills took place in Russia's Far East.

Next time, I want to see your carrier INS Vikramāditya with our Light Carrier JS Izumo, with notable battle group support ships.

Good going Russia
Collect as much intelligence as you can during the drill though you can expect nothing much from these minnows :cheesy:

I'd suggest you close your mouth before make a fool out of yourself. We have the greatest Navy in Asia. The Russians know this.

Don't derail this thread. We're discussing about Russo-Japanese naval exercises, Russo-Japanese-Indian naval cooperation. I don't want to talk about hypothetical war scenarios with a certain East Asian nation.

Anyways, back to the subject matter.

That was a very uncalled for and rude response... one filled with too much emotion and too few facts. Can you refute the claim that @Nihonjin1051 made? What makes Japan's navy not the best in the region? To be fair, the USN is the best in the Pacific, East or West, but Japan is second. China is followed by South Korea which is followed by a limited and still growing/modernizing Russian Eastern Fleet. At present Japan is established, China is growing as is South Korea and Russia needs work. Calm down a bit, tone down the emotions, and look more objectively at the situation. Analyze all factors. Training, equipment, IRS, support infrastructure, alliances and logistics and then make an informed conclusion.

As for the the article itself, it presents a good, but not uncommon opportunity for each nation. These drills have been done before and present a limited, if at all existent, view of global politics. To be fair intelligence will be gathered by all sides and some will find its way into the hands of third parties... that's just life.

The more the merrier for the Russians to collect good intelligence even from the minnows bragging as big fishes in the pond particularly when the disputed islands to the north of Japan could flare up in military conflicts :coffee:8-)

Thanks @SvenSvensonov . A thread based on comparing naval logistics and focusing on developing SORAX policies. I cannot understand why some others have to apply a diminutive thinking of raining missiles on one another when that has no basis of the thread topic. Just mind boggling.

PS. You're right, in the Asia-Pacific: USN > JMSDF > PLAN > ROKN > RN > Others

Didn't you already say that the first time -

Can you deny the challenge that Japanese face with the assault of missiles?
These cases are all over the places on defense sites and forums
I think you people need to stop building an armchair containment all over the forum on your visionary enem(-ies) because you are unable to do so! 8-)

One area of interest is our side getting to know the Russian SORAX policies, and procedures. Second, is comparing each others' anti-piracy abilities, then of course, fleet screen exercises.
