There has recently been some confusion about Russia's stance on article 370. Well, here, the Russian ambassador clearly says at 0.37 that Article 370 is an internal matter of India.

Also note how he mentions Shimla, which shows Russia does not consider Article 370 withdrawal to be a violation of Shimla.

I don't think Russia even understands what bilateral and internal means...putting both words in the same sentence is an insult to English itself...and to UN resolution.

I think Russia's stance can be interpreted as the Article 370 withdrawal doesn't affect the Kashmir dispute.

Kashmir issue can be easily resolved if the two parties - India and Pakistan - really want to resolve it. But if they want to continue hatreds and war-mongering, Kashmir cannot be resolved in a hundred years.

By changing the status (without a bilateral agreement) and breaking the shimla accord....I don't think India can be trusted ...ever!

What's your opinion?

Kashmir is a bilateral or a unilateral issue, or a non-issue?
I have decided that I will use this forum mostly to post media material and to avoid giving my personal opinion on most subjects.

But if you insist, I feel Kashmir is definitely a bilateral issue, considering India and Pakistan have gone to war four times over it. However, matters relating to India's constitution are entirely internal. India has the right to make or remove whatever amendments it wants.

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it.

Hi there generation X.
Learn to counter it. We can keep closing threads but it serves no purpose...However countering it shows we know right from wrong.

Plus it adds another thread to the world of false pretense ...Each of such a thread shows we know our history and politics. We also know what the UN resolution is. And we will keep reiterating it no matter what comes.

Indian constitutional ammendments ignoring UN resolution of internationally disputed territory came before Indian ammendment and definitely is above Indian constitution.

I mean it is not like tomorrow we can amend our constitution to include whole of Punjab as under Pakistan and it would be alright, right?

honestly, I don't think anyone would care if Pakistan passes a law that says all of Punjab is part of Pakistan.

That sounds like a false equivalence. Has India sent troops across the LOC?
What LOC? After ammendment of our constitution...LOC would / should technically move. After all whole of Punjab is internal matter of Pakistan.

And sort of yes....In disputed territory. ..which is internationally recognised!

But if you insist, I feel Kashmir is definitely a bilateral issue
Thanks.. Please educate your government which says that it Kashmir is an internal matter rather than educating Pakistanis here.

China raises Kashmir issue at UN, India reiterates it is internal matter

And we don't care about constitution.. though you may hear from us about it, but literally we don't care what you include or exclude.. Tomorrow your government may include Khyber Pakhtoonkhuwa as one of your union territory, which will have no impact whatsoever on us.

For us, Kashmir has always been a disputed territory that's required to be solved under UNSC resolutions.
