Russia deploy s-300 near Afghanistan.

Interesting move. It coincides with Taliban taking over Northern cities with the approval of Russia. Hence it is likely that this is to provide cover to Taliban from any aerial attacks by the US.

This is mere posturing.

USAF will make short work of S-300 system if activated against it.

As I said things will get tough for US in Afghanistan.
Indeed.

It looks like things are getting tough for Taliban instead.

Just wait for Donald Trump to be shown the door. His impeachment trial has begun.

Do not take US for granted for this country thrive on violence and destroying other societies; this country is a conglomeration of craziness.

Let us hope Afghan issue is sorted out before Donald Trump leave the office.

You have been bombing for the last 19 years with no results. With each bombing you increase their numbers.

Fixed.

Afghan Taliban have fought well but it is premature to assume that these people will win. Bush administration hammered Afghan Taliban to near oblivion but Obama administration made it possible for the Afghan Taliban to re-surge and threaten US-backed government in Afghanistan, and now the country is experiencing another chapter of civil war. Trump administration desired withdrawal from Afghanistan but talks for a political resolution have collapsed. Afghan Taliban are willing to resume talks but not sure what Americans have in mind. One of the President nominees hinted splintering Afghanistan on ethnic grounds. Let us see.

Pakistan must fence the entire Durand Line at a fast pace. No need to cheer for Afghan Taliban prematurely.
