President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that the commanders of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and the personnel of the naval infantry must focus on important tasks: further accumulation of combat potential, improvement of military skills and achievement of interoperability of our units with those of NATO member states.

“The commanders of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and the personnel of the naval infantry face new important tasks aimed at further accumulation of combat potential,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.

According to him, the quality of training of the naval infantry has been increased drastically compared to previous years. “However, we should complete the formation of this type of troops capable of performing any tasks both on land and on water - with the use of modern samples of armament and military equipment, new forms and methods of fighting,” he said.

The President noted: “We must continue to actively collaborate with our foreign partners, study their best practices, using the assistance of military instructors from the United States, Great Britain and other countries of the North Atlantic Alliance”. Petro Poroshenko added that our foreign colleagues have already learned a lot from us - “from our military life”.

“I call for the further intensification of international cooperation aimed at improving the skills of military personnel and achieving the interoperability of our units with those of NATO member states,” the Head of State emphasized.

He also noted that the state would increase efforts to provide modernized weaponry and military equipment to the naval infantry. “I have a good news, next year, we will complete the rearming of the tank battalion of the marine brigade with T-80 tanks. Another battalion will be armed with modernized infantry fighting vehicles,” the President informed.

The Head of State emphasized that in Mariupol and in other locations sailors - border guards served together with marines. “We have improved their technical equipment over the past years. Modern systems of surface environment monitoring have been established on the posts of technical observation. New modernized motor boats have been provided to them as well,” he added.

According to the President, a separate naval infantry has been formed in the composition of the border guards - a unit of maritime security of special purpose. “The maritime security of the State Border Service and the Naval Forces are a single powerful force that confidently keeps under control all the approaches from the sea,” Petro Poroshenko said.

The Head of State also mentioned another pleasant news. He thanked the servicemen of the Third separate regiment of the Special Forces from Kropyvnytskyi who won silver in “Exercise Cambrian Patrol” annual international competition of the elite military units.

“With their achievements our men have once again proved to the whole world that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have revived, and our special forces are one of the best in the world,” he stressed.

After the completion of the solemn part, the President had a conversation with the marines and gave them protective amulets made by children together with his wife Maryna Poroshenko. “I would like to fulfill her request and hand over these amulets to each one of you,” Petro Poroshenko said.

The Head of State also inspected the armaments and military equipment.

@Hindustani78 I like the way you keep your threads alive but following your agenda, you are a pro-US sub. BTW you do a great favor to Defence.pk

I have been following the events around the borders of Republic of India, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, GCC, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, South East Asia , Ukraine Republic for the past more than 10 years. I know that Indians do consider United States of America as an ally similar like the Arabs, Turks, Ukrainians and Africans. We do have military relations and we all do take terrorism seriously as its nothing but proxy war.

I know you are an experienced sub, but i meant that your story lines are against eastern powers. This thread from 2015 is a good example, why in hell's name should Russia attack Ukraine from sea unless there is an AMerican presence. And only an stupid would believe that it's an strange thing because Russia is not Vietnam.

Or your threads/posts about Saudis, Yemen, Syria and Iraq. BTW you are at good work, i just mentioned your agenda. Best of luck

You even cant deny that Russian Federation have invaded Ukrainian Republic territories and it was a well calculated military tactic of the Eastern powers and on that arms reduction treaty on Eastern Europe was a throny issue between United States of America/Ukrainian Republic Vs Russian Federation/Eastern powers since 2008 because of the Upgradation of ICBM's by the Russian Federation. Invasion of Crimea and Donbass region has to do more with the Kharkiv accords and the courage and bravery showed by the Ukrainian Military is even visible against the might of the Russian Federation/Eastern powers. More advance equipment has been placed by Russian Federation in Belarus, Kaliningrad region and Serbia.

By the way do you have any idea how many Ukrainian navy ships have been acquired by the Russian Federation troops during the Invasion of Crimea ? Ukrainian Military is rebuilding thier Navy and on that even the Ukrainians have upgraded Air Defenses up to par of S400.

See buddy?
I don't call it war between UKR and RUS, it was just a simple American coup in Ukraine that opened the way for NATO expansion until Russian backdoor. US is a bully so cannot tolerate an strong Russia, before implementation of Aegis radar in Eastern-EU Russia had no Iskander-M deployed in her western boundaries but first of all US knocked Russian doors first so Russia felt the threat and deployed Iskander-M in Kaliningrad. USA cheated in the mutual agreements with Russia-Soviets, actually underestimated Russia's technological capabilities.

Crimea is a part of Russia and they themselves chose to join Russia. Up to 90% voted for joining to Russia. We have different views as i said. You use different glasses in politics. BTW, an Indian full of dignity should be pro-Russia, they gave you nuclear subs, advanced fighter jets etc while west has an story of colonizing your homeland.

Ukraine Republic left the Eastern powers long time back as you remember and the invasion of Georgia was an eye opener for the Ukraine Republic in 2008. Ukraine Republic left CSTO that time only.

Iskander (SS-26 Stone) began development in the early 1970s to replace the Scud-B, however, its development was accelerated to replace the SS-23 Spider, which Russia retired in 1988 because of restrictions mandated by the INF Treaty. There are two versions of the missile, the Iskander-M and the Iskander-E, the latter solely for export. The Iskander-M was operationalized in 2006 and is currently fielded by the Russian Army. It has a range of 400-500 km and uses both inertial and optical guidance systems to achieve an accuracy of 10-30 m CEP.

Crimea was part of Ukraine Republic since the time when Russian Federation came into existence and as i remember it was President Boris Yeltsin. Kharkiv Accords were like the Russian Federation full involvement into Ukrainian internal politics.

And regarding Indian defense industries , then Indian Scientists do produce military equipment domestically and Indians ship building yards over haulled Egyptian Submarine in 1988.
