Yogi Adityanath, original name Ajay Bisht, is the chief minister of the most populous Indian state Uttar Pradesh. Yogi is a BJP leader who is also a Hindu monk. He is quite the rabid anti-Muslim bigot. One of the things he is associated with is that once he was on a stage and one of his followers said into the mic that Muslim women need to be dug up from their graves and raped. So Yogi seems not to care for the chief ministerial election in UP in 2022 but has his eye set on the PM election of 2024. Also in the interview was said that it is Hindutva that will be the prominent agenda item for 2024 because there is nothing else for the BJP, especially the grand mishandling of COVID.

Maybe you are right but talking specifically about the PM election of 2024 India's public is a fickle-minded one. A not really sensible one. If they haven't learnt their lesson about the mismanagement of COVID situation Yogi can well become the PM. A lot of the Indian middle class, supposedly educated ones, young ones, believe in Hindutva and its mythologies.

Yes - the RSS doesnt like Yogi. Yogi belongs to Thakur caste and there is a longtime rivalry between them and Brahmin caste. RSS represents Brahmin and while they are ok to accomodate once in a while their main job is to ensure that brahmin is still the top dog.
