Works on the commercialization of the proposal to build a nuclear power plant and a science and technology center for foreign markets

June 11, 2019 – 8 Shawwal 1440

The Russian company Ross Atom has opened a branch in Saudi Arabia to participate in the competitive process of building a nuclear power plant.

In details, the company said in a statement at the sixth meeting of the Joint Russian-Saudi Committee on Trade, Economic and Scientific Cooperation. Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy, confirmed Russia's intention to develop active cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the peaceful use of nuclear technology and announced the opening of a branch from Ross Atom Overseas to Riyadh.

The statement adds that Ross Atom Overseas will promote the proposal to build a nuclear power plant with large and small capabilities, as well as the Center for Nuclear Science and Technology in Foreign Markets.

Earlier this month, Alexei Lekhachyov, chairman of the company, proposed in Moscow to build a nuclear power plant in Saudi Arabia based on 3G + VVER-1200 technologies.

The Russian news agency "Sputniknews" quoted Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak as saying that Russia was considering the creation of four nuclear units in Riyadh to produce electricity, and that the contract has not been signed yet, but that they are getting closer to it.

Saudi Arabia and Russia are discussing investments worth tens of billions of dollars and will soon be implemented, including in the field of chemicals for gas and oil. Investments and signing of an agreement to facilitate entry visas for citizens of both countries.

Saudi Arabia signs cooperation deals with China on nuclear energy

Bro, it is too late here and just watched game 5 of the NBA finals. China is already involved
while we speak with uranium extraction inside KSA. Question is if they will eventually help build some of the nuclear plants. My gut feeling (based on all the information that we have) is that they will.

Toronto Raptors lost. A shame. Yet 2 opportunities left to win it.

A Russian official confirmed Moscow's readiness to support Riyadh in the implementation of ambitious plans to develop a national nuclear program at any stage, and any size, noting that his country offered Saudi Arabia to buy the technology of nuclear reactors of the generation «3 +», »(Aqueous power plant).

The Russian official unveiled a study to establish a nuclear science and technology center based on a Russian-designed research reactor in Saudi Arabia.

"We view Saudi Arabia as a strategic ally, and we consider our cooperation potential to be enormous," said Alexander Voronkov, director general of the Rosatom Regional Center for the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Atomic Energy Agency.

Very welcome news. 3 + generation is some serious business. It is high time to turn KSA-Russia relations into a strategic and mutually beneficial partnership. No hostility historically.
Other than just jointly helping regulate the oil market and having rather small trade ties compared to the potential and economic size of the two countries.

Sorry, can’t help with that one. He might be active on Arab military forums or Twitter. I remember some users here during my time from Al Sharqiyah (EP). Welcome in KSA anytime. Hope the new green card will be reformed so it can be easier to obtain citizenship for those born and raised in KSA and who consider it their home.
