Roma became Muslims in Ottoman Empire while converted to Orthodox religion in southern Europe. They did not intermarry or were forced to live separate lives. They came as refugees to Canada from Hungary few years ago. They got free healthcare and welfare payments. But they were begging in street corners and grocery stores they were healthy adults, young children and old people. The poor immigrants from Africa, Asia and South America come to Canada work hard and make contribution to Canada. Roma were only begging. Canada now has visa restrictions so they have stopped coming to Canada.

Too much wrong assumptions from your side.

Roma people are like mixture of Caucasians and Central Asians. I think the reason Europeans point out towards Indian tribes is basically to end they differences and even to stop legal immigration of Indians. Indians are too different. Millions of Roma people were even killed during second world war like the rest of other European nations.
