Quantum leap forward: China to launch world’s longest, ‘hack-proof’ network by 2016

From your link:

Theory is is perfect, its applications may not be! For example here the hacker was able to access the detector, ideally it should not be the case.

Honestly, yeah, I am not that knowledgeable about this field, last time I studied any of it was 6 years ago, just theory (concepts) and for extra curriculum. And that is why I am just talking about theory, I have no clue how they are turning it into practice.

As part of my Btech Project I had worked on s/w project which simulated Quantum cryptography. As for 0/0, i was not questioning God, but pointing out loopholes in conventional understanding of Maths.

Though Maths is the basis of science, which pretty much drives humanity forward. :)

My final point is quantum cryptography is not a panacea for security, but the best one available :)

I was joking about 0/0. Pointing out that there are certain conditions which are not allowed. Like unstoppable force meeting immovable wall or something. In general usage, maths is infallible. Or atleast that is what I believe while applying it to physics! And my studies have been purely theoretical. I studied quantum crypto for a presentation in my QM course. So my understanding regarding the engineering side is rather limited.

So is mine, I luckly had access to very funny article explaining quantum cryptography in layman terms and an audience who had no idea about the same. :D

The quantum mechanics equation just flew over my head :)

Just don't let our enemies acquire the technology. Only our allies can enjoy high tech like us. Everybody else can go about their nasty, brutish and short lives.
