Punjab CM suspends DIG investigations for misleading PM House

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday has suspended DIG Investigations Lahore Inam Waheed and two other police officers for sending a wrong report upon a complaint on Citizens Portal.

As per details, a woman hailing from Manawan area of Lahore registered a complaint on Citizen Portal for the recovery of her daughter upon which the Prime Minister has ordered an inquiry.

PM house was misinformed on the matter by the police upon which the PM has ordered an inquiry to the government of Punjab.

On the directives of PM, Punjab CM has suspended the DIG Investigation and two other senior police officials and ordered to probe the matter further. Sardar Usman Buzdar has also ordered officials to submit a detailed report of the matter within a week.

On the other hand, the missing girl Rimsha Tariq has been returned to her home after five months.

Earlier, it was surfaced that the police have closed the case’s file after a few days of registration as they were failed to recover the girl. To which, the girl’s mother had requested the PM via Citizen Portal app to help her in the recovery of her missing daughter.

PM portal is a joke. It's the online equivalent of intexar and khwari and office to office chakars.

Yes but you get to do it from your mobile. You get a complaint number and what not. I just keep pushing it stating this complaint number was closed unjustly....I did it 3x and finally something came through....

I filed 2 complaints in February and still no response on 1 and 1 being tossed around in univUniver offices. Assholes also have disclosed my name and my department didn't take it well.

There is an option to hide your info...I always select that.

It is a great tragedy that many in Pakistan have "first world" governance/state services expectations from a country that is still very much developing.

This leads to avoidable frustration in the populace that expects issues to be solved with a magic wand. Even the US has horrible access to justice, an inexcusable amount of homelessness/poverty, police brutality etc., given its strength, size and development.
