PTI's first Policy Seminar is now planned for the 26th of feb.

the seminar shall focus on the Energy Crisis and PTI's solutions. for which the first four hour session with C'man took place with Tareen and other technocrats, the other day.

short term, near term(5 years) and long term planning sketch was discussed.

before PTI gives its final solution chart on 26th of Feb.

I would like the PDF members to participate in devising the solution for our current energy crisis.

keep focus on how part as well, if possible.

however do focus on Short term(1-2 years),

Near Term (5 years keeping in view the next elections)

and long Term Strategy (25 years to 50 years)

PTI's first target should be the existing systems, and to devise a strategy in order to make them more efficient. e.g. there're 8-turbins for electricity production in Turbaila Dam where 5 of them are out of service for obvious reasons. The same goes for Warsak Dam where even one can see water pouring into the roofs, and the whole dam's capacity has been reduced by Mud at the lower level, the rest of the Dams are more or less in a very poor condition too. Making them efficient should be PTI's prime objective in their strategy.

I'm so excited to see their full report. PTI has some outstanding brains in their team, and they, most definitely will devise a very well structured strategy which will be easy to implement in short time.

Good luck PTI.

^^ As Imran said that they have put together a team of capable professional to come up with the report on Energy Crisis. as you point out the deficiencies and weaknesses of the existing setup.

there is another that I would like to point out that hydel and coal or indigenous gas should be used to produce, for a cost effective production of electricity.

Furnace Oil and LNG are not the answer to cost effectiveness, which is one of the prime objectives of any organization to begin with.

There you go, Tareen at it.

Very deep and thought provoking insights given by Tareen.

Using Coal to produce Electricity is expensive to set-up. Instead siltation must be treated. Faulty turbines must be made functional. Power loses must be reduced by replacing old wires with better quality wires. Bijjli Chor's must be taken to task... Kalabagh dam be constructed and India must not be allowed to build dams on Chenab and Sutlej (Follow Indus Water Treaty)... Keep it simple silly :D

wow!!! thats just something you get only from educated people...

Very true... who'd have thought that people from Pakistan would get an invitation for the World Economic Forum in Switzerland where Tareen accompanied Imran Khan to. It does tell about the approach adopted by IK and his team to learn from successful countries and by going there, you're winning their trust and presenting Pakistan on an Intl. desk, the fruits of which will be seen when Imran comes into power. That was totally Tareen's idea I assume - a good and smart one.

Anyway just wanted to say, Tareen is the highest tax-payer in Pakistan.
