Despite a complaint launched by the administration of Christian Hospital Taxila to the Police that their Canteen contractor was threatening them of dire circumstances and religiously motivated violence, the Taxila Police on behest of Nur Mohammad registered a false FIR against the hospital administration and arrested three employees. In an unprecedented act of a vibrant civil society the Insaf Tigers of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Taxila moved swiftly to avert an anti Christian campaign in Taxila, launched by Mr. Malik Noor Mohammad and his sons with the support of the local police station. It is known in Taxila that this Police Station is controlled by an influential politician of PMLN.
The timely intervention by PTI workers, security agencies and local notables averted a situation where religious sentiments against Christians were being exploited for petty self interests and which could have led to large scale rioting and arson like Gojra. The local PTI chapter was led by Mr Eithisham Malik,Malik Asif Zia and Mr. Jamshed Masih, on the instructions of Mr. Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, the Regional President. Mr.Malik Asif Zia was part of the negotiating Peace Committee and signed the Settlement Agreement on behalf of PTI. Brig Samson Simon Sharaf (Retired) a central party leader was also present.
