Thanks. Would you be kind enough to do a conversion to dollars and also reconfirm my finding. That petrol is 50% more expensive. Also do you agree that this is primarly favourable to the better off in Pakistan [cars etc] at the cost of billions of taxe potential to the government exchequer/

Which part of Pakistan are you from , my friend. And yes I am ware that within some circles in Pakistan drinking is reason to live. I have seen that close up on visits to Pakistan. When they see me rejecting to take part in their drunk parties the shock on their faces. They think anybody from west will be drinker!

I have some family living in Islamabad. In a very nice part of Islamabad. But throughly corrupt. Money earned through corruption of the higherst order. Apartments in Dubai. Holidays in UK, USA. House is ISB in my muns name in UK to cover up the largesse.

It does indeed. But that inflation is shared by all. The benefits of minimum wage only accrue to those right at the bottom. So it is still of some use and not sham. I find policies that are designed to redistribute wealth in society get torn apart and recieve the microscope. But policies that benefit the rich and have holes as big as what sank the Titanic get conveniently overlooked.

I disagree, the poor only benefit in the immediate moment for 3-4 months when businesses still have not increased their prices to meet the consumers purchasing power, after that they are in the same position. The only one that loses when minimum wage increases is the middle class, as their saving throughout the years of hard work is lost due to inflation caused by minimum wage, and now have their money de-valued thanks to policy makers who think its a great idea to increase minimum wage.

Because of these sham policies, I personally have been purchasing antiques and making investments, so that when our government increases minimum wage ONCE AGAIN then at least the investments will not lose its original value.

I live in Canada. Pakistan is a completely different story.


Minimum wage isnt even enough to survive on. It's a sham, indeed.

Its not a problem of minimum wage, minimum could be 100$/H it still wouldn't make a difference as business would increase their prices based on consumer purchasing power.
