Jiabao will arrive in Pakistan for a three-day visit on December 18.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China may initiate a “strategic dialogue” on the pattern of the ongoing Pak-US dialogue during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao’s upcoming visit.

Jiabao will arrive in Pakistan for a three-day visit on December 18 to cement what officials from both sides term “strategic cooperation”. During this visit, he will address a joint session of the parliament on December 19.

Official sources told The Express Tribune that during his visit to Pakistan, the two countries are likely to finalise the modalities of their strategic dialogue, augmenting their close coordination in different fields including nuclear technology.

China and Pakistan consider each other time-tested friends and China is already working with Pakistan in building nuclear power plants at Chashma and other locations.

The new proposed deals between the two countries are likely to agitate important world capitals. Besides neighbouring India, the US and some other Western capitals have already expressed apprehension over the burgeoning co-operation between China and Pakistan. Reportedly, the US had sought details from Islamabad on its nuclear cooperation with China, which Islamabad declined.

Economic officials from both countries have already identified several projects to be announced during the visit. According to an announcement from Islamabad and Beijing, Chinese companies plan to invest more than $10 billion in various infrastructure and development projects in Pakistan.

This shows the level of commitment put down to enhance the strategic ties.

Well sir ji at least he is putting an effort to stay here for 3 days, and giving us an opportunity to talk to us as equals. Rather then some others who use us as a transit hub on their way to our neighbors, and while their planes are getting fulled up they utilize their time wisely to lecture our pathetic leaders about democrazy. Something that they actually dont support in our country. :pakistan::china:

China: ‘Pakistan is our Israel’
When a US delegate once confronted a Chinese diplomat about Beijing‘s uncompromising support for Pakistan, the Chinese reportedly responded with a heavily-loaded sarcastic remark: “Pakistan is our Israel”.

I have noticed some western states are collectively punishing China for supporting Pakistan and are constantly trying to hurt China from all directions as much possible.

China-Pakistan cannot be spectator to the shrinking circle.
Bharti nuisance need to be tackled seriously for the betterment of the region.

Polietly request you to keep India out of it or else another of this good thread will be ruined because taking the name India will invite the Indians.

Also Pakistan should seriously consider setting up of free trade zones in collaboration with the Chines in and around both the ports and also in major cities.

What do you want the Chinese Premier to do? Stay in Pakistan for a month?

You think he is not busy in his own country?
:disagree:
U misunderstood, i was of the view that the Chinese Premier will adress the Joint Parliment which shows his greater level of commitement to building strategik ties with Pakistan.

He wont just meet with the top people in Pakistan but also adress the Parliamentarians which no one in the past has done so...!
