If LTTE leader Prabhakaran had been living today he could have become the Prime Minister of the country, said the State Minister of Child Affairs, Vijayakala Maheswaran.

She said so during a ceremony at the Kilinochchi District Secretariat to grant compensation to the Kilinochchi General Market stall holders whose stalls were gutted in September.

“The Vadamarachchi area was renowned for Education. LTTE leader Prabhakaran, was from Valvettithurai. Compared to all of our presidents none could hold a candle to Prabhakaran’s leadership,” she said.

“If he had been living today, he could have been the Prime Minister or a Parliamentarian. It is our bad luck. Some politicians here say that the destruction started by Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe was ended by Mahinda Rajapaksa.

If our talk involves racialism in this manner we may be deprived of what we are entitled to. Instead of talking we must understand what we can get and what we cannot get out of this government of Good Governance and act accordingly,” she said.

“Whether it is in the North or the South if we talk racism, it is our generation that will be affected. In this government of Good Governance only good things are happening,” she said. (S. N. Nibojan)

He had the chance. Prabhakaran could have achieved a lot if he tried to enter mainstram politics to change things without turning into a mad man. While he has skill in administration he has more skill as a commander than a politician
In the end Prabhakarn is just a wasted oppurtunity if his childhood and youth were different his skills could have been developed and used for the benefit of the nation

Prabhakaran the enemy of state, who killed many Sri Lankan civilians & soldiers could have been PM.

Yes.

Because the common sense is not common.
And the following:

Prabhakran was a a bloody terrorist and a megalomaniac there is no doubt, But he was also influential to lead a whole generation of Tamil youth to their death, Some willing to sacrifice their lives to him however misguided they were

So yeah he was a better leader to those in the LTTE and thier supporters than any of the clowns(Including Solomon Dias Banda) that had lead the country since Sir John Kotalawala.. So yeah What she said is absolutely true, Prabhakaran was a way better leader to the people that followed him

Btw, Stop fecking tagging me on these stupid arse threads

Logic of dumb fecked up Rajapaksa slaves, Totally ignores the latter part of her statement, Of how racism would not achieve any goals by any party

Hitler had better leadership qualities.

Update:

The UNP cannot agree with the statement made by its MP Wijayakala Maheswarwan on the late LTTE leader Prabahakaran, one of its MPs said today. Ms Maheshwaran recently said LTTE leader Prabahakaran could have been the Prime Minister of this country had he been alive today. UNP MP Hector Appuharmy told a media briefing that his party could not agree with the statement made by Ms Maheshwaran. “We condemn this statement,” he said while recalling that the LTTE was accused of causing destruction to the country. “Ms Maheswaran may have come out with her own opinion but it is not the opinion of the rest of us in the party,” he added.(Yohan Perera) -

Not denying that either

Denial on this?
You can not afford.

However, its a matter of probability of being elected as PM or President after you have massacred millions, which is the crux of the matter..

I can understand your soft corner for Prabha as a Tamil, but thats ok with me.

Govt. failing in promises to Tamil people - Vijayakala Featured

State minister Vijayakala Maheswaran says the present government of good governance is failing in its promises to the Tamil people to resolve their problems.

She was speaking yesterday (28) at a compensation granting by the resettlement ministry for traders of the gutted Kilinochchi market complex.

Maheswaran said the Tamils had their only brave leader in Prabhakaran, and after him the TNA and other parties voted by them have failed to get their problems solved.

A segment of the Tamil people has betrayed the rights of the entire community as well as those of Prabhakaran, she charged.

@Godman @Nilgiri @surya kiran.. PDF never ceases to humor me, From one extreme accusation to another

That probability is nil, Given he was a bloody terrorist and was responsible for the muder of thousands, But this is a equation on leadership, Which he wins hands down over any post independence Sri Lankan leader to date

The gist of the article being?

He could not have.

You're right.
It was just an imagination of terrorist sympathizers.
Even though, he would've been a stronger leader compared to elected scarecrow president.

Yes the gist of that statement i cannot agree with.. This women is yet another third class politician in a third world country vying for brownie points from extremist sections of her electorate

But saying that i still stick to my argument on she being correct of the leadership qualities of Prabhakaran over any Lankan leader todate

Also as expected from a non Lankan who are totally oblivious to intricate complexities of Sri Lankan politics and ethnic issues completely you missed out on a vital sentence.. That Prabakharan could have been the PM of Sri Lanka,

Not Eelam

Prabhakan never identified himself a Sri Lankan but a separatist Eelamist.. Not that i expect some random Indian to understand the significance of that change in rhetoric

This stupidity is uttered by many.

Yes, he could have become super rich if he entered mainstream politics. But the enslavement of the Tamil people would continue. He is a true patriot. He sacrificed his entire family because he did not want to sell out his country.

He used to come to the poet's house in his early days in Chennai. An unassuming but very smart young man.
