After PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s call for a civil disobedience movement (with a two day deadline for the government to pack up or face consequences), a political frenzy burst forth on TV screens and social media.

Below is a summary of some of the top reactions by Pakistan's politicians.

What the PML-N thinks

Finance Minster Ishaq Dar:

“Imran Khan’s movement is unconstitutional…The country is making progress, he needs to reconsider his call for civil disobedience. This is a very serious matter.“

Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal:

“Pakistan is a constitutional country and cannot afford anarchy…This is an anarchist approach, it will be self-defeating. We are making a case for the enemies of Pakistan by talking about spreading chaos and anarchy.”

PML-N MNA Marvi Memon:

“There is absolutely no chance that Nawaz Sharif will resign as prime minister.”

Federal State Minister for Water & Power Abid Sher Ali:

“Political issues need to be resolved through dialogue… We will not let the people take an unlawful approach.”

Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed:

“Imran Khan’s sit-in is nothing more than a joke… There is no way that his civil-disobedience announcement can be implemented.”

PML-N leader Mushahidullah Khan:

"Such measures are normally seen in colonies but there is no concept of such tactics in a democratic country with a Constitution."

What other parties think

ANP leader Zahid Khan:

“Imran Khan was sounding extremely confused in his speech.”

ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan:

“I don’t think there is going to be any serious head-on collision between the two sides… The situation can only be resolved when both sides come to an agreement.”

Former interior minister Rehman Malik:

“All political parties want peace in the country…The PPP is ready to help resolve the situation. The government needs to look to Imran Khan’s demands and resolve the issue through talks.”

National Party leader Mir Hasil Bizenjo:

“Talks of civil disobedience movement is just hot-air, and if Imran Khan tries to enter the Red zone then anything can happen.”

PPP Senator Aitzaz Ahsan:

“Imran Khan has simply given a threat.”

Now PTI youthias will not use their cars & bikes onwards ... Because people have to pay taxes on petrol & CNG

My suggestions to govt.

Deploy Army in Red Zone just in front of Azadi March.

Give an ultimatum to Imran Khan who has rebelled against state ( not the government) that by Tuesday morning there should be no protesters or Dharna. By noon start using water cannons to dispers the people before they could start any silly things. By afternoon start tear gas and if still some remain then start batton charge.

Army must not tolerate anyone in red zone.

Its Pakistan not a bnana republic that someone comes with few thousand people and announce civil disobedience.
I am shocked by Imran Khan's speech. He turned out to be just another power mongering politician. At 70 seats in Punjab his candidates could not secure just minimum votes to save their surety bonds and he claims all elections are rigged.

There is no Iftikhar Ch in office then why doesn't't he go to courts. Sorry Imran Khan, I liked you but I love Pakistan and anyone knowingly or unknowingly hurts Pakistan I will not tolerate. Civil disobedience is like rebellion against state. I heard your most important speech of your 18 years political life and it was worst ever speech. It was clear that you had no words to speak except repeating few sentences.

and Quaid fought for independent state for Muslims for which Nawaz Sharif has to say "the only thing separating India and Pakistan is a thin line"

so no two nation theory no 14 points etc etc etc

what was the scenario and situation then Khuram Dastagir did not enlightened us about that

oh and kindly "sir" tell us what Khuram Dastagirs father did to Sister of Quaid e azam when she came to Gujranwala for election campaign so that PDF members can know the respect Khuram Dstagirs father had for Quaid e azam and his respected sister

THIS IS what I am talking about. You guys say no to this fool who's spreading treason and terrorism without any mercy on 200 MILLION people and through the support of 30K young idiots who are too busy dancing then realizing what Independence or Civil Unrest means.
It is time for any caring Pakistani to write as much as you can against this crap so the message is loud and clear. NO destroying the system, NO to violence and NO to destruction of the economy and NO to innocent people's body bags. TAKE YOUR ISSUES TO THE COURT OF LAW YOU TALIBAN KHAN!
