Though i doubt you would also find all the researchers on early Christianity agreeing with one another as well. Much of this early time is shrouded in mystery as well.

Nonsense.

Most of the Jews in the time of Jesus did not even know who he was . He had 12 disciples and a few followers but that's it.

I the first early 200 years of Christianity all Christians and those who spread Christianity where mostly Jewish. Christianity would not have existed and grow into region without Jews.

Later Jewish people rejected Jesus for the simple reason he did not bring about what was prophesied in the bible . Things like - bringing all the Jews back to Israel , and eternal peace among nations :

" The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. "

You are right to correct me. I have checked the dates again - The great fire in Rome was in 64 AD under the tyranny of Nero , who is well known for his persecution of Christians. I think it is a good reference point cause many know about those events.

Amazing how fast it caught on.

Well guess it has something to do with the fact that at the time Roman society was like a palace that was rotten with termite . from outside you see a beautiful structure but at a close inspection you could see how ugly it had become and how the oppressed was crying for a change.


By the way the things I liked about the movie was Technicolor ,in those days the technique they were using would have produced such vivid colors it really looked like a living painting. Watched the movie when I wanted to watch all the movies featuring Sophia Loren . (She plays as lygias slave)
