I'm no apologist for the congress in their failures. they too should have done this. But I do not believe they would have called it 'waste of money'. Sure their incompetence would have also ensured it moved slow but then overtly saying these things is definitely not their weakness.

what is wrong in treating/ rehabilitaing/ counselling a rape victim in nearby govt hospital? Why do we need 'rape only centes', given that rape carries such a stigma in our society ? A woman may not be seen going to or being in such rape centre for the fear of being 'judged'

My view is we must have some specialized center to help the rape victims.....

You know this is not just about the statements. You know that I'm a modi baiter, I pull stuff out of my @$$ to go after him because historically right wing groups have never done anything but damage to their states. But even I was forced to admit in the weeks leading up to the elections that 'Modi is a great administrator but should not be PM because he is communal'. I actually declared 'Modi Era' when he won. I thought it would be superb administration who will create fundamental issues that will take generations to repair. But this is something else, this is as if the 1% that modi will completely lose the plot coming alive.
Repeatedly it's a let down. We are cutting on education (unthinkable) when we're giving a 2 lakh corore corporate bonanza over the next 3 years? Are we so educated that we can actually take the money off that and give dividents to Birlas and Reliance? I work for a major corporation and even I know how stupid this is. Now we have 17000 crore in 'unplanned expenditures' and we can't enable this? Then what is the taxation for? This is not just against my ideology. Though I believe RSS to be extremely communal, I know that even they understand some (not all) of these issues. They run 40,000 schools because they know what education our status is. How is it that we should consider this insane budget and money taken out of important things like Education, Public Health and serious social problems, at the same time look at major discounts to people who don't really need it that much (Indian corporations are taxed at rationalized levels worldwide) and still feel everything is ok.
This really is a government increasingly out of touch with reality.I never expected this. I thought he was too smart to let this happen. But no-he has lost the plot here.

obviously 'nearby govt hospitals' aren't able to perform well so an additiona unit is asked for in each district. according to recommendations such units will be there only one in each state.

Its very simple, ask your AK49 that instead of running away to Bangalore, he should set these up in Delhi and we'll have first hand evidence of whether these centers are at all effective or useful. Based on that evidence, we can take informed decision to expand into rest of India or not.

Criticizing is the simplest thing in the world, have someone deliver first for the policies you support and that you decry a government for not following.

Theek hai bolta erh. Dont get frustrated when no one pays hoots to ur calls. Understand crowd psychology. they are like giants. The react slowly but when they do they do it powerfully. So no point trying to make them react ASAP.

They shouldnt had cut down the budget of rape centers and mid day meal schemes.. If PM thinks NREGA was a failure, he would have diverted that funds to these kind of projects..Seriously one rape center for each state wont cut it and calling it a rape center itself is creepy..

That is right. Asking the rape victim to go to state rape centre for futhur evaluation is rubbing salt to her wound. Menaka Gandhi has the most stupid ideas. Last time such stupid idea of hers made Delhi stray dog capital of the world

These centers are there for counselling and helping rape victims from mental trauma..How exactly is it rubbing salt?
