Qatar Job in this entire process is of invisible guardian. Host the peace talks and protect the Afghan taliban members in Qatar from getting killed. Mullah Baradaer was in Pakistan Custody and now he is in Qatar holding peace talks with America.

They are not directly influencing the peace talks like Pakistan, China or Russia. But Indirectly and behind the scenes they are preventing the entire peace talk negotiation from collapsing. Take an example of this

That's very informative and really sad at the same time. Pakistan should have provided them the security for the sake of peace process. I now know about the role played by Qatar and I appreciate it. But my question is that how the direct talks are different than the multiparty talks and why multiparty talks are necessary if they can directly communicate with US.. that's what I'm trying to understand.
