PM Imran Khan's message for Overseas Pakistanis

I do not believe that this time around there will be as big of an impact in terms of Donations from Overseas - as opposed to the Dam Fund where we all pitched in whatever little we could.

This time around, there may be some working out of their homes. But Salaries have been slashed somewhere between 25%-50%. People have lost jobs.

To add insult to injury, we now have to buy these damn Masks (N95), Gloves, Sanitizers and 3 times the hand soap. Prices for most of these products have sky-rocketed.

I doubt people are gonna dig deep into their life-savings 'cause no one truly knows when this Covid-19 crap is gonna end.

Gib money can't have more stickers on the ration boxes, gib money can't have more posters on the roads, gib money can't sustain exotic leisures, gib money can't tax the rich, gib money can't let the people have financial and admin autonomy, gib money, babu's can't buy food from own pocket, gib money just gib gib more of it.

Bring the money back
We will all stand with you
Thats the real jihad
I will still donate, but this is something I wonder about as well. A lot of our problems will go away if accountability is carried out like promised. But so far, nothing. All these crooks are still free without paying back a penny.

Tired of these endless donation drives. What happened to the billions of dollars that people allege NS and Zardari were supposedly bringing back?

Please shut down that stupid dam fund that the retard Saqib Nisar made. Use what little funds there are on the most pressing needs. And more serious effort on water management and dams is needed. You cannot use the fund as an excuse not to work hard to secure government and third party funding, it will never even get off of the ground if we just wait on the dam fund to accumulate enough money.

Most overseas Pakistani's have been affected by this virus with job
losses and loss of business. My message for Imran Khan is that
hang Nawaz and Zardari upside down, beat them up until they
cough the corruption money out.

The bitter truth is countries don't flourish or progress based on donations. Yes, we should help our Pakistani brothers but in the end, we will have to put our house in order and progress as a nation on the economic front.

My mantra in life is never to donate to any chanda ... private or government.

Always do your charity local where you can see what your money is doing, if not actually doing it yourself (best).

DESK REPORT

So much hate during a pandemic! Through their live sessions, artists from both sides of the border were comforting many.

Through their live sessions, Pakistanis extended an olive branch. The Indian film body was quick to shoot it down.

Actors, singers and artists have an important role to play during this drawn-out lockdown; they come together to keep their audiences entertained and engaged.

At the same time, it's a great time for our entertainers to collaborate with other like-minded people.

Recently, our very own Ali Sethi set the bar high with his cross-border collaboration between local living legend Farida Khanum on this side of the border, and iconic Indian songstress, Rekha Bhardwaj, from across the border.

After this, several Indian and Pakistani artists started collaborating online and the sight ahead was admirable. However it was when Indian singer Harshdeep Kaur and designer Vijay Arora did an online concert with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan that FWICE took notice and took action.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) said in a statement, "Artistes were seen collaborating with Pakistani singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. We are pained to inform all members that FWICE has issued a total non-cooperation circular advising all members not to work in any manner whatsoever with all Pakistani artistes, singers and technicians."

It continued, “Some members are blatantly violating the non-cooperation circular by working in various mode and media of entertainment like a recent instance in which our musicians have worked online with singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan of Pakistan, which is being seen online. We have been informed that more such entertainment products and songs are being planned and made.”

The statement also served as a reminder that FWICE had forbidden Indian actors, musicians and even technicians from the Indian entertainment industry to work in any form with people from Pakistan before too.

“We have to strictly inform all the members of our affiliates to kindly note that the Non- Cooperation Circular is valid and subsisting and anyone found cooperating or working in any manner with any Pakistani artistes, singers and technicians, in any mode or media of entertainment, will be subject to strict disciplinary action initiated by FWICE. Everyone, please note,” the statement added.

Where artists were attempting to diminish borders with love for art, extremists are doing their best to keep the two neighbouring countries apart - even though the peaceful attempt was made during a global pandemic.

Artistes do not live in a cocoon.

They live and eat in the nation.

I'm for people to people contact.

But then I tell myself Im being dishonest and utopian. Do I REALLY want to meet ALL Pakistanis?

No.

I just want to meet guys like @lastofthepatriots and some yummy lolitas in the 30+ category.

Lets face it. If Indians REALLY wanted to meet Pakstanis and have contact, they have 200+ million of their own on their own soil more easily available and accessible.

But they do not.

So to be brutally honest, its a class thing.

We want class to class contact. Sorry boss, aisa hi hai.

You got the essence of what I was saying.

All this meeting and contact and all is romanticisation.

Yes definitely want to explore the natural beauty and take in the culture.

Most definitely the food (well after the pandemic).

But people wise, we will always gravitate to our own class and wavelength.

let's reverse it, what pak government ever did for British-Pakistani's that face discrimination here in England. Most Pakistani have the lowest end job and wages.
