PL-15 to be deployed on JF-17

News have been circulating that long range Radar guided PL-15 AAM will be deployed on JF-17 fighter jets.

PL-15 is an advance air to air missile with no escape range. The missile deploys AESA radar and high manuver ability. This integration of PL-15 with JF-17 will be leathel and will make JF-17 a lethal machine more capable of any fighter jet in the region and will highly enhance air superiority of JF-17.

Whilst the question was posed to Oscar, I might as well chip in.

The block 52 Viper is superior. In terms of capability, the latest Thunders are somewhere between block 40 and block 50 Vipers IIRC.

But block 3 should, insha'Allah, be superior to block 52 Vipers.

Looks like the Block III may get a modified version that isn't quite as potent, but either way, it will be a significant addition to an already formidable fighter.

From what I know PL-15 is quite big. It usually pairs with larger jets like J-10 or J-20

Hi,

Before the JF17 became fully operational---we all had biases---intentionally / purposefully / with or without prejudice /---some of it was pure bias and some of it was to confuse the enemy---and that---the enemy will have to judge---.

Now that the JF17's performance is out in the open---most people who had no idea of it---find that it is not just the aircraft that is competing---it is a package of different aircrafts working as a team to make the operation a success.

So---we cannot just look at the performances of the aircraft individually---. Because in modern warfare---individual performances would take a back seat and a better team effort will win.

So---based on that---team JF17 performance was above par---.
