Philip Morris Closes A Manufacturing Facility in Pakistan

The problem of drugs is both from the demand and supply side. Taxing the consumer only hurts the people a little bit and isnt a strong enough deterrent. National drugs authority people came to our uni once with sniffer dogs but the problem did not go away. Expelling students doesn't really work. As long as there is demand the supply will make its way through. Btw im under so much stress at times that I feel like smoking too...have heard it reduces stress ..haha but im too old now for this type of adventure plus I have two kids!

The stress here is on "Stress". Physical & emotional stresses leading to depression and anxiety. Tobacco seems to be the cheapest option these days for the youth to relieve stress with. Outdoor physical activities are in sharp decline. The recreational stress relievers are in higher demand than ever. It is a national pandemic.

"In 2017, the most recent year for which data is available, opioid overdoses killed more than forty-seven thousand people, or more than six times the number of U.S. military servicemembers killed in the post-9/11 wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The opioid mortality rate that year contributed to the third straight yearly decline in life expectancy."

This is from www.cfr.org/backgrounder/us-opioid-epidemic.
