America is simply playing another one of its card: Play its neighbours against China.

Accuse China of being a threat to its neighbours, destabilizing the region meanwhile doing what it can to disrupt energy resources in the ME and African continent. When Russia or India becomes as big and powerful as China, they too would be receiving the same treatment.

It's an upgrade, not downgrade. Being America's main banker and being the second biggest economy isn't a downgrade, but wishing to be like India is.

Being America's biggest banker doesn't make you militarily stronger than Russia. We know china's getting stronger , but take it easy china boy , Russia is way above your level at the present and perhaps for the next 10 years , militarily that is. Infact , you cant even afford a war with India at the present. However , this said , i do agree with what you said earlier. When our growth becomes a threat to them , they will do the same type of stuff to us .

You will not become strong by hoping for the others to be or by waving someone else's flag. China is without a doubt the second strongest after America. Why else would China get so much media spotlight and friendly words and gestures from America? If you are talking about USSR and China at the time, then I'd believe you, but to compare Russia with China now? common now, wake up to the smell of coffee already. If you talk about Russia's stockpile of nukes or aircraft propulsion technology yes I'd agree with you, with everything else, then I'd beg to differ.

So yes Indian boy, do enjoy the time of not being placed under the spotlight, because when you get to the stage where you are strong enough to upset the American economy or military, then you can talk to us or Russia about it.

On a serious note..........i would pay so much attention for an article from Times of India. The Hindu would be a better choice.

thats exactly the overall picture... if we didnt faced any conflicts in near 50 years and our economy is growing like the present..
and hopefully all the people in our country getting the benifit of our growing economy.... then i will say we are in right direction...

We donot go begging to our so called allies/brothers in times of war to bail us out we Indians sign pacts to help each other out in times of need, russians have shown their commitment when US+Pak+china was against us, now can u tell me what china has done for u, infact what has any country done for u except for free oil refelling for ur planes .. heck i heard pakistani pilots helping out the arabs in times of war never heard the viseversa tough.

And in other sense who cares if somebody helps us or not in times of war its our motherland and the responsibility to save its dignity is upon us and we are a comitted nation whose soldiers prefer to die than to withdraw..
