Can someone help me understand this forum. A few points ...
1) why most of people don't use their real names ?
2) what are Senior members and how do you get promoted ? Anything specific required ?

Just kidding. This forum is like other hundreds of thousands of forums on the internet discussing various topics. And this being internet, nobody uses real name but alias and pseudo names.

Regarding senior member tag, the more you post and involve in meaningful discussion than your rank will automatically increase.

Majority of people don't like to reveal their personal info on forums you've FB/Twitter for that even there it is recommended to not reveal too much personal info as it can be misused.

2) what are Senior members and how do you get promoted ? Anything specific required ?

You get a Senior member title at 2,000 post count, Elite member title at 8,000 post count. As far as title holders are concerned e.g

Professionals (they're ex army men so unless you're an ex army men you won't get that title),

Think Tanks (you've to earn that with good quality posts and somewhat good post history/behavior means no trolling etc than administration will decide if you should get that title or not),

Moderators (well they get promoted from Think Tanks afa i know)

Staff (they help with managing social media accounts of PDF).
