Is it still possible to save this forum?

I think the political discourse was fine.

But sometimes things went overboard when dirt was thrown at poor soldiers and officers who were being martyred.

Political engineering, Pakistanis abducted, jailing of political workers, murdering of journalists, human rights violations, acts of treason, operating beyond one’s scope.

All these things needed to be called out but in a civil manner.

As a Pakistani diaspora who was born and raised in the west, this forum means a lot to me.
I’ve learned so much off this forum about Pakistan which I didn’t previously know.
Interacted with many knowledgeable people on here and learned many new things.
This forum will be missed.

Would not advise that to Pakistanis.
There are many who are hostile to us on that site.
The rest of you that’s your choice. I don’t wish bad fortunes to our people.
Pakistanis should have a Pakistani defence forum always even if small and hard to use.
A Pakistani defence forum will always feel like home. A foreign one will always make you feel like a guest. No hate against other forums but nothing beats your own country/communities forum.

100% same. Was born and raised in the west. This forum gave me a sense of attachment and built my love for Pakistan warts and all.

Sir,

Thank you very much for this kind comment, I joined this forum in 2008 and to say "every day here is a school day" wouldn't be wrong. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the valuable threads here and been both honored to have been asked to share some of my experience and humbled at the depth and breadth of knowledge of members here.

I remember speaking to a fellow NDU candidate who mentioned PDF as being the website where there were able to source links to articles for their essay. That made me feel very happy, that this website was more than just another GupShup website, it was also more than just a repository of information, I mean we have Wiki for that.

I couldn't possibly do justice to everyone I have interacted with here by just mentioning one or two names, there are just too many to mention here. So to every single member here who made PDF the unique nuthouse it was, thank you for all the great conversations. I want to especially thank @WebMaster for inviting me to become a TT all those years ago, and thank you to the the administration team on PDF including friends @AgNoStiC MuSliM @LeGenD @waz @Jango @The Eagle @Amaa'n @PDF

The loss of this community, this home away from home will likely sting many here who were passionate about this website and the sense of community and catharsis it offered. Just rest assured my friends, the ship is safest when it is in port, but that is not what ships were built for.

Finally I will close with requesting, if anyone would care to stay in touch, I am always available via this email address:

Why don’t you just join the new forum?
