Intelligence is gathered and analysed by men such as me and you. Naturally, being men they make mistakes, being men they are far from perfect, being men they are not all-seeing, being men they are not all knowing. All intel agencies have had their bad days.

Why blame him alone? The causes of Pakistan's "embarrassment" on the world stage are multi-factorial, and Dr. Afridi's treatment has the potential of being helpful or adverse to that impression even now.

If he had such solid intel, he should have approached the ISI, the PA. This could have been a major face saver yet it proved to be a disaster. It was his responsibility to notify the relevant authorities. Not divulging the location of the World's most wanted man is I believe an offence under the charges of being an accessory to terrorism(for not highlighting OBL's location) punishable by life term and I can also charge him of treason, punishable by death.

What ever the reasons be, do you not agree what ever he did was good for Pakistan in the long run? Why Pakistan always hang the guy who do some thing good for the country? Musharraf is another case that comes to my mind.

No, he should have approached the ISI with this information. He did not do any "good" for Pakistan. Rather by paving the way for foreign troops to operate on our soil he damaged our national morale and self-respect. He can be charged for treason under these circumstances.

We do not know who he was working for and what was "the bigger cause" before him, we only know Shakeel Afridi bypassed Pakistan and helped a foreign country and committed treason.

How did he save any dignity? He basically showed pakistan naked.
From pakistani point of view, it is definitely treson( helping a foreign agency like CIA).

He helped the US in the most important mission it has commenced since 9/11 and was the responsibility of Pakistan and ISI.

They really should thank him for his valuable help to capture OBL who was responsible for murdering of many Pakistanis.

ISI has divided into two groups, pro US and Anti US, one is working for US and other is Against CIA..
Thats the reality. the war in between two was there since 1970,s but after 2004 it was seen through naked eyes.
This is the war of two groups which leads to OBL raid and Davis case and others may come in future.
ISI and CIA are now in cold war, ISI is trying to built some in CIA too to dismantle CIA.
