Guys the info. that led to his capture, in its most most raw form, was passed on to CIA by ISI. The slip was that ISI did not follow-up on the info. and the Americans, taking the same info. built up credible intelligence database.
If you recall another important guy was nabbed from Abottabad some times before the OBL raid. That was one of the links that backed up the initial call intercepts forwarded by the ISI LI unit to the Americans. You can go to the bank on this info.
The slip up by ISI was not to follow-up on this info. I still suspect that the local police and the det people were either extremely careless or paid off/sympethisers by or to Al-Qaeda cause. Otherwise after the capture of a relatviely high profile courrier from Abottabad, things should have heated up.
I reslly do not think that ISI was hiding him otherwise he would have been long gone after the sharing of info. on call intercepts.
The reason that this guy is being given the heat is the fact that he did not share the information with Pakistan instead worked with the American without the knowledge of the ISI operatives. Afterall it was one of the biggest embarrasments that the agency had to face and they were made to look bad infront of the world. This is usual knee jerk reaction in this part of the world -- you have to save face at all costs. This is cultural issue and the western mindset does not fully grasp this concept.
