We were never part of the Axis. The King and a part of the Army and officials fled to the Middle-East and settled in Egypt to coordinate with the British. Athens had a government in order to take care of every day matters,just like Denmark,Belgium and other occupied countries had,at least the ones without a puppet State installed.

Greeks saved a lot of Jews during the occupation,had various resistance groups and even helped the Italians in the Ionian,after they fellout with the Germans.
