What's new

Pakistanis lacking self initiative?

We elect these leaders and then we are by all rules of democracy suppose to tolerate them for the tenure they had been elected.

Its simple 63 years is not enough a period to expect perfect system with regard to anything.

i personally believe we have got matured to some extent atleast here in my province our people have given chance to parties of all colours including religious ones to secular ones and trust me we do know the ones who work for progress of public get filtered with every election

Valid.

Everything needs time to take root & no system is perfect.

I think it is apathy from the higher class. In almost all countries, the upper class don't give a damn if their country is being drowned by the neck. But in Pakistan, we need the upper class to give a damn.

Also, many of us vote on ethnic lines. E.g. us Sindhis will never vote for MQM because they don't treat us well. Who can we vote for? Some of us vote for PPP wanting to believe that it is the same party it was decades ago. Here democracy fails.

Secondly- what if all our choices are corrupt? Of course, I hope Pakistan never comes to that.

We need some sort of non-democratic government that actually does good for the country.

And if we get a good leader, he needs to get a grasp of the media. Geo TV and the likes enjoy making Pakistan look like hell

thanks alot, didnt know that. but he is from israel, look at the flags? he has said to me himself.

"Pakistanis I start this thread to alert you of the shadow warfare being waged on our Nation as we speak."

Today -

"I think Allah is waiting for Pakistanis to fix their problems! You have a nation, military, land, tools, and other things what is lacking is the will and dedication in the people. Pakistani people must do more, they must do more in the next decade than what was done in the previous two decades or more."

Incorrect flags, You/They instead of We.

I thought he was Bangladeshi, he turned out to be Pakistani.

Like Paladin said We should be proud of our motherland, no matter what.

Thank you Kaid for bringing this matter up, The problem with Pakistan is that our people want a quick fix to everything, they want a quick fix for the economy, a quick fix for the security situation, a quick fix for development, etc.
They all want change but when change knocks at our door, we are quick to hush it way. It wasn't too long ago, it was Ayub's time in power, it was the very same country, the very same people but in spite of all this they were nothing like this country or these people. People used to stop at zebra crossings, people would not cross a red light even if there wasn't a car in sight, after hearing a siren all cars would line up to the left side of the road and stop; allowing the vehicle in an emergency to move unhindered, a man on a cycle would walk home if his dynamo wasn't working rather than endanger anyone, horse carts would go through the streets but never would you see any horse excrement on the road, now the exact opposite happens. To the reader these may seem like small breaches of the law but these are very clear indicators of the mindset of the people, and with what respect they hold the law.
Another case of a quick fix can be seen in our government, they used to laugh at their Indian counterparts who used to ride around in ugly, toadish ambassador cars whereas our diplomats drove around in Dodges' and Chevys. Our diplomats are still riding around in other country's cars but the Indians have transformed their ugly cars that our people used to smirk at, into a billion dollar industry.
We need to wake up and smell the coffee, we can't wait for a messiah to come and change our nation, if anybody's going to do it. It will be/must be/only can be US, the people....................

Flags are not a matter, but he told me himself taht he was israeli citizen, anyways, not that important.

thanks

I share your concern though OP starter is also Pakistanis, thank you for your useful thread.

After our founder Jinnah passed away, what did our people do for Pakistan in the last 63 years? What's wrong with them?? See post#2 is best examples!

What I want I see in the lack of self-initiative and self-confidence is

-Millions Pakistanis believe family more important than education ( high-level university or overseas)

-Most Pakistanis not interested of Pakistan's futures economy and high-level jobs

-Most Pakistanis including family, politicans, business tend to blame other people, backstabbing

-Most Pakistanis obsess over religions, very intolerable!! And unfortunately suicide bombing is great tools for heavens! Keep killing everyday in those sects!

-Some Pakistanis want to represent Pakistan a bad terrorist country (ie. Faisal Shahzad for wrong reasons)

They should care to look other people instead discussion about atomic bombs, and military (i.e Pakistan's Only Muslim Nuclear Power etc) Stupid JOKING!

If Pakistan doesn't improve next few years together for prosperous bright future, I think we have to give up our country and identity to Uncle Sam.
