No aid whatsoever is not paid into any politicians bank account. As in India there are auditor generals and the amount received has to be shown in the budgetary presentations and the budget document publications and the subsequent allocations on the money received ( for example military expenditures like salaries)
Zardari has got nothing to do with aid received and he cant pocket it as he wishes.

StreetHawk no need to overload your common sense. Spark is correct in saying that a politician will not get his hands over this money.

You need not to worry about how things work inside Pakistan, especially in this case, because this money is american money and as being practiced in the past, whenever such aid/assistance had been handed over to Pakistan a certain number of people are detailed by the US who ensure that the money is utilized for the sole purpose it has been given for.

This was done because there were instances of 'misuse' of aid money in the past. So in short, you should stop worrying about Pakistan as MMS is already voicing concern over corruption inside india.

UN's case is different. We are talking about US aid.

But one thing US cant control is where the aid is spend. It was reported that only a fraction of the whole amount is spend on education and other social causes. And that is the cause of worry whic the Indian government has voiced and US has conveniently played it down by saying they cant keep track of the spending, but in reality they are given the expenditure accounts. Otherwise taxpayers money of the US wont reach as aid that too this much amount.

Why?

90% of this 'aid' is actually a rebate for what Pakistan has spent for the US as most of it is in garb of military assistance.

We are in this mess because of the US, though this war had become our own but still it's the certain American policies which are costing us in men and material. We are just getting back what we have spent, you no need to pay the chastity card here.

In all fairness- then not a word about drone attacks. Not a word about Pakistani sovereignty and not a word about America dictating your army. you can't have your cake and eat it too.

This is what I've been seeing , a lot chest thumping we don't want your aid and the moment someone says US should stop aid, stop drones too, stop anything with pakistan - we hear but but I want my MTV.

you do realize that accepting aid will only make your economy weaker, and less self sufficient... U.S. is going probably stop Aid after this one...
