The PHSADC and the Minister is essentially making a mountain out of a mole-hill! The truth of the matter is that Century Arms has been buying and exporting to the USA various types of locally manufactured replicas of famous (9mm pistols, WWI and WWI rifle replicas etc) from Darra Adam Khel since 2002. Since now Darra Adam Khel has been organized under the aegis of PHSADC, hence these replicas will now be exported under their banner. Secondly, 2500 pistols every month is no big deal, at around US$150 per pistol you do the math!! Lastly, Century International Arms is owned by a very prominent Jewish family from Florida, it'll be sometime before they bring in a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant into Pakistan!! But I guess that something in these times is always better than nothing at all!

very old news. This company was formed in a bid to curb arms manufacturing in Derra and many technicans from Derra were provided jobs in this company, I myself being an avid handgun enthusiast and shooter know first hand that they have not come up with a good indiginous handgun design, they are only making knock-offs offs of some other foreign brands and selling them cheap. US has the worlds largest civilian handgun market and if explored properly this could provide a good break to local handgun industry. The major hurdle in achieving this would be a sever lack of research and production facilities in the field of metalurgy, key ingriedent for any arms industry.

Can anyone post the info on models and pictures of these exported guns?

Here is a link to a Pakistani gun manufacturer. though they look great but in light of my experience with some of the products I would rate them to be somewhere between tier 2~3 quality for the price they sell for. btw my last experience with them waas about 5/6 years earlier, I suppose they would have improved somwhat over time.

You are very very right but a decade ago they are out of DAK , one of the major domain they play in is the surplus weapon. However it was not easy job. These QTYs are only to start with if our manufacturers have enough muscles we can make millions of U$D deals for them.
Over a year it will earn up over 5 millions of $ for the country and definitely it will reflect in the increased employment opportunities. There is not only on type of handgun which cost 100-125 $ there is 9mms Worthing over 200$.
It’s very easy to give flying statements but when you have to deal with customers in intl market you got to be very careful in your statements. The commitment you will make with customer from the platform of PHSADC has to be based on the commitment made by industry, but many of you don’t know how they change their statements in every next sitting they have with you.
There are companies interested to buy the whole production which is more than 1000$ but industry here is able to produce. Secondly you have to look for the quality.
I had a inquiry of 1.2 million but there was no manufacturer willing to fulfil the requirement. Many of us don’t know that many of the manufacturer don't take the responsibility if you buy the weapon and go out their premises.
Many on the forum don't even know how to just fulfil the legal requirement of intl expos and other authorities like customs, and making a successful exhibit is another lengthy question. You need to prepare for 6 months at least if you are manufacturing the products yourself but when you are not the manufacturer it becomes more complicated.
Many intl airlines (emirates, luftansa, qatar, itehad, turkish etc) are not accepting any sort of weapon shipment from Pakistan, anybody knows???
When you had already spent thousands of U$D to buy the exhibit and have prepared lots products after making number of trips to Sialkot, Gujranwala, Wazirabad and DAK, which you are intending to display on your exhibit and one fine morning you get an email on your black berry that US customer is not accepting your shipment as the consignee name is in the BIS denied list. I just want you to guess how it feels after reading all this??? It seems everything going in vain and you feel like you are standing with an empty stand in the exhibition.
Well in short its very easy to point finger on others for the sake of showing your suedo competency but its very difficult to make things happen.

Kya yar we should oppen our arm restriction to it has been some time now though my family owns a good amount of guns but they are not as good as these new one'S also which all guns are being exported i think so they will be exporting rifles and shotguns are they also exporting bullets
