Pakistan spied on German officers in Afghanistan: paper

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani officials on Monday rejected a German newspaper report that the country's secret service spied on German security forces in Afghanistan.

Without citing its sources, mass-selling weekly Bild am Sonntag reported on Sunday that Germany's BND foreign intelligence agency warned its interior ministry that Pakistan had spied on 180 German police officers deployed in Afghanistan to train locals.

A Pakistani foreign ministry official, who asked not to be identified, described the report as "ridiculous" and "useless".

Pakistan military spokesman Major-General Athar Abbas said the report was not worth commenting on.

Bild am Sonntag said private telephone calls, messages to the German interior ministry, military mission orders and lists intercepted, raising fears sensitive information could end up in the hands of the Taliban.

The German interior ministry told Reuters the BND suspected a German email had been intercepted but could not give confirmation. The ministry added it was not aware of any comprehensive interception of German police data. The BND declined to comment on the report.

Now the Germans also are making accusations. Some in denial will also call this a conspiracy but will not use a logic why everyone is doing it.
What you think the US and NATO is not spying on you and us with their satellites? If they are doing it then we also have the right, more than them as their actions would ultimately affect us. Better to let them know that they are being watched

My dear, just because every one is saying it, doesnt means it true. Did you read when it said "The interior ministry told Reuters the BND suspected a German email had been intercepted but could not give confirmation". Please read the words again where it said it could not confirm.

Also, do you remember weapons of mass destruction episode with Iraq? The whole world was saying that too. I am sure you know the results.

Lets be honest. Recently (in last 15 - 20 years or so), world has adopted global propaganda as a tool to accuse target countries and take actions against them directly or influence them indirectly to achieve whatever they want to achieve.

it's just a sensationalist headline...it's their word against ours. They claim our intel guys spied on them; our intel guys reject the allegations and call them useless garbage.

so as usual, a war of words.......the Germans are welcome to present any evidence and it may be looked at when some time is available.

in all honesty, sounds like a case of crying over spilled milk

no one has any evidence against ISI ..... when someone is afraid of something then he tries to use its name everywhere to reduce his fear this is the case against ISI ... they can not tackle the ISI that is why they do propaganda against ISI... if they have evidence then why they dont present in UN and put a ban on ISI but sadly they cant

they can't, because beyond the size of their beaks --they have nothing to show for their words....just rhetoric and hollow, empty words.

one silly question.

are we that much capable(in technical terms, info and security) that we listen the conversation of some European country?

silly answer :
if Al Qaeda can do that so why cant ISI.

there is nothing unusual in spying , everyone is doing that even on their friends.
