Pakistan sends relief goods for landslide victims in Sri Lanka

SRILANKA: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka reiterated on Tuesday his country’s continued commitment to assist Sri Lanka during relief efforts, Radio Pakistan reported.

The first cargo flight of relief goods from Pakistan for the landslide victims of Haldummula arrived on Tuesday at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, Sri Lanka.

The relief goods containing generators, shelters, tents, medicines, etc were handed over by the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Qasim Qureshi to the Sri Lankan Deputy Chief of Staff Major General E.M.M Ambanpola.

The Government of Pakistan has estimated the value of delivered relief goods to be over 100 million Sri Lankan rupees.

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had also conveyed that Pakistan is ready to assist Sri Lanka in any way to meet its requirements in relief and rehabilitation efforts.

While speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s High Commissioner reiterated Pakistan’s continued commitment to assist Sri Lanka during its relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The second special flight carrying relief goods is expected to arrive on November 5.

Why not send the relief goods to Thar are they not Pakistanis ?
