Saudi Arabia had played a significant role in easing tension between Pakistan and India, said Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry.
Saudi Arabia motivated other countries such as the United Arab Emirates and the United States to play a role in preventing India from escalating tensions with Pakistan, Chaudhry told Geo News.
He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi doesn’t want to ease tensions with Pakistan and did not respond to its peace initiatives, adding that he was trying to exploit the escalation of tension with Pakistan to boost his political popularity ahead of the Indian elections.
Chaudhry pointed out that Pakistan is internally united, but divisions in India began to dominate the situation after Indian opposition parties stopped believing Modi’s government, which failed to provide one evidence that Indian troops killed more than 300 terrorists in Pakistan.
The Pakistani Minister said internal divisions in India will intensify as India's general election approaches.
