What's new

Pakistan’s absence in Bonn conference won’t make a difference: Kabul

It can be achieved. Provided US/NATO shows the same level of commitment as they did in Iraq.

Pakistan has no importance for Afghanistan, if they really want that to happen. No trade, no routes, they have so many other friendly countries around it, they all will help Afghanistan.

I said before, Afghans / Afghanistan is a thankless nation, we gave them refuge and helped them in times of need and they still wanna stab us in the back.

Sir Afghanistan is already being helped by not one country but by entire world including us.. More than 40 armies are in operation there, fighting Taliban for about a decade now.. If peace was that easy to achieve then it would have been achieved by now. My point is the entity called peace can only be accomplished if you take all stakeholders on board.

And I perfectly agree with you on bold part..

Agreed, but for the sake of Indians, Afghans, US / NATO, we should give them another chance. Cut everything with Pakistan and let everyone else help them.

And as i said peace is very easy, let them induct more troops and seal the border. Very easy.

Whatever our neighbors say, Pakistan made the right decision boycotting this useless conference:

Yup.. And thats between Pakistan and Afghanistan.. Unlike Pakistan, India does not claim to determine who Afghanistan can deal with and how..

nor does Pakistan.....though we do take serious issue to nefarious elements in Afghanistan (including those within state apparatus) who have demonstrated incompetence, greed, and of course hostile attitude towards Pakistan --resulting in actions or instances where Afghanistan WAS used to anti-Pakistan activity

given the porous border and the fact that Pakistan houses 4 million Afghan refugees (and has faced many other drawbacks and costs both financial and hidden costs) i think Pakistan has more than a fair say in this matter

Afghanistan is our neighbour.......india has no geographical or demographic ties to Afghanistan; nor has Afghanistan lately been used in hostile manner against india

too much of pakistans resources has been lost in trying to clean.afghanistans mess.
remember how fast the pakistan economy was growing during taliban era or pre WOT era?
since pakistan engaged in thos foreign war...it has lost tok much..
best way to go is to disengage with this nonezense and concdnterate on economy and internal affairs ans let india take care of afghanistan if they do much want to do this.

I doubt they could be helped without Pakistan.. Anyways, if achieving peace is that easy then US/NATO shouldn't waste their time, sooner they archive better for the region.

Great Idea indeed..

Will Be surprised to see any such positions from Indian govt which dictate Afghanistan on how to conduct Foreign policy.

I fail to see any incident in which Pakistan dictated Afghanistan its foreign policy ??

Even today Karzai uncle made negative remarks about Pakistan and so many other incidences where he attacks Pakistan.

Pakistan welcomes any humanitarian effort in Afghanistan; anything that benefits Afghan people and helps bring a semblance to ''nationhood'' and sustainable peace in the war-tattered country.

Pakistanis simply hope that in doing so, Afghanistan (its soil) is not ever used for hostile acts of aggression against Pakistan --be it by NATO, ANA, elements of the NDS or by state or non-state actors affiliated with Afghanistan.

it's a legitimate concern, given past instances of the aforementioned; and of course given recent events and regional developments

(not to mention the fact that we share a long, demarcated border with them and given the fact that Afghanistan today is a narco-state with little government control or writ outside of Kabul)

if Pakistan could dictate policy to Afghanistan even under the taleban regime -- then all non-Afghan fighters affiliated with al qaeda would have either been dead or captured; the Buddha statues would never have been destroyed; and Mullah Omar would have handed over OBL unconditionally. The latter was within the grasp of NATO in 2001, but due to their collective intel-failure he slipped out from their hands.

you indians give us way too much credit and you people love to exaggerate the extent to which we influenced affairs in Afghanistan

(God knows I wish we could have that type of influence there earlier on)

that was probably even after he received medical care in Pakistan, and sent a few nephews to study in Peshawar
