Pakistan Rolling Out 50 Mbps Broadband Service

here in UK 50mbps is the ultimate home broadband and there isnt a fater service. costs about 40 pounds a month or 5000 pak rs

London has 100mbps if I'm not wrong.

They are releasing 2 packages
50MB 20,000 rs per month
20MB 10,000 rs Per Month

That's pretty insane, I wonder how many home users will actually subscribe to this plan.

I get 24Mbps for 35 euros a month and a 250Gb limit. I would have thought Malaysia would be better.

Haha! Malaysia broadband is a big fail. It's being monopolized by one company which charge exorbitant prices for poor quality service and speed.

But over here, we have no other options

Yeah, Ireland used to be like that until we got UPC. If it wasn't for UPC I'd be pretty much in the same boat as you. 30 euros (42 USD) for 3Mbps Broadband. What's your ISP called anyway?

ISP is called Telekom Malaysia. It's supported by the Malaysian government making it hard for other companies to compete.

Actually the price package i mentioned above is a pretty recent broadband package that started off last month.

Before last month, for 3 years, the only option I had is for 1Mb (Actually speed I was getting was 100 to 225kbps though) for the price of US$50 with frequent down time and all. A 5 minute YouTube video would take 2 hours to download. So fail

Awh, that sucks dude. Actual speed is usually lower though. Nothing to be worried about. It depends on packet traffic and server saturation. At peak times I only get 2Mbps on the closest server with my connection.

Never trust government supported services. From what I hear on the interwebz, the private companies seem to be better.

All i know is PTCL has the largest wimax and BB network in Pakistan. I was able to access Wimax via PTCL Evo2 in Barain... Now that's what you call service.

not when you get it once a week

and rest of the time between 70-150

its 2000rs per month

They are targeting corporate users - Though corporate users usually prefer fiber directly into office rather then this.Normal users i think mostly use these packages
