Senator Sam Nunn has worked before with senator Lugar.. who has received Hilal-e-Pakistan
Both are proponents of a Nuclear free world.

NTI and the EIU relied on a panel of
international experts and advisors. Members included people who have been
directly responsible for nuclear security at facilities and in governments as
well as people who have worked on nuclear security issues in academia and
at international organizations. NTI also conducted briefings with and sought
feedback from governments and a host of other experts worldwide. This
support strengthened the intellectual framework for the Index and enhanced
its accuracy.
Although the Index ranks countries, it is not about congratulating some and
chastising others. Instead, it highlights that all countries can and must do more
to strengthen security around the world’s most dangerous materials. To that
end, the NTI Index offers priorities and actionable recommendations. It should
be used as a tool and as a resource for improvement, not merely as a rating
system. In the future, this Index can become more helpful and accurate, but only
if governments participate in filling gaps and correcting errors that result from a
lack of transparency
.

I believe the last sentence should tell the story on the index.
When was the last time you heard of transparency in Pakistan's nuclear program??

The peoples who even don't have a single clue about Pakistani Nukes.....they are commenting on the security....how someone can gave comments when even he don't know the saftey measures and procedurs one country is following and what kind of secruity and systems they have....seems like non-sense............they just collect the media reports and paper cuttings and make analysis....and everybody knows about European and US media reports about Asian Countries specially against Pakistan.

its time for us south asians to generate a report on the nuke safety of the western countries-
List them in bottom-
I hv seen practically no security at nuclear sites in west- Some day some terrorist gona steal something or blow things up-

Honestly why we so much depend on the western sources?-
We are doing our best to safeguard our nuclear assets- Who needs an assessment report from partial organizations-

im actually surprised because i thought our nuclear sites was the most secured because we have threats both from east and west to steal our nukes

US confident about safety of Pakistan's nuclear weapons

WASHINGTON: The Obama administration has exuded confidence about the safety and security of Pakistan's nuclear weapons in the wake of political turmoil inside the country.

"We are confident that all of these issues are managed well," undersecretary of state for arms control Ellen Tauscher told Washington-based Defence Writers Group on Thursday.

"The administration is very clear that we work very closely with our Pakistani allies. At their requests and at our offering we work closely on issues of nuclear security," Tauscher said in response to a question on the security of nuclear weapons in Pakistan.

The under secretary said that safety and security of nuclear weapons and materials is an issue of concern for global leaders.

"This is the reason why the (US) President (Barack) Obama had such a success (on Nuclear Security Summit)," she said adding that the next one is being scheduled for March in Seoul.

amazing how potential enemies and us rivals are listed at the bottom.. how do they know they arent secure have they tried to steal nuclear material from all those countries. yeah those that have 200 to 500 are unsafe but those that have upto 10000 are impenetrable ....... nice list declare every country that isnt a five member and china and could be us enemy as unsafe what rubbish its the same as that 20 most sad nations where iraq and afghanistan didnt even have a ranking

id say its pretty daft if you think north korea's nukes are unsafe, i mean come on sk has after them for a long time and so are the cia, if somebody could do something about them then the west would have....lol hell they couldnt even prevent them. These researches are big red baboon bollox thats all.

This is dangerous war propaganda.

It's obvious that the USA is planning some kind of "secure Pakistan's nukes before it falls into the hands of terrorists" kind of operation, particularly because Pakistan refuses to help USA attack Iran. But I can't see them pull it off without india's help.
