As part of a broader, transparent and ratified by parliament, logistical support, transit and military and intelligence cooperation set of agreements with the US/ISAF, why not?

The key is that all the shady/covert agreements come out into the open, and all agreements are debated in parliament and in the media, and Pakistanis can see which politician supports what.

Thats a fail at so many levels I don't know where to begin. In any case its the Afghani forefathers who made sure of that, not yours.

However I see a different mood now, looks like a business meeting is about to take place and a business decision about to be made.

Its a good thing in a way IF this results in the ruling powers of pakistan taking the population in confidence. Obviously they have not done that in the past and that itself had led to so many problems.

I agree with what this post suggests because that is the correct and appropriate way to further national interests of Pakistan within a democratic framework.

Nobody is against that. You need cooperation.

But it should be done on the equal level, with the nation taken into confidence, and the ground realities and the truth shared with the public. The operational secrets could be kept secrets, but the public has the right to know that how is their money and their country's resources being spent.

It is NOT the PA's role to negotiate with foreign powers. That authority lies with the government. PA should stop usurping this authority if the nation is to progress.

Democracy is an excuse to do down our armed forces. I trust them more than the supposed democrats. Army is more in line with public opinion in pakistan than traitors like zardari. My estimate was 30 days. I still have a week, and if my estimate is off, I will admit it.

If you remember I had stated that the Nato forces have supplies reserves for 3 MONTHS. At first the US showed nonchalant attitude but this is going to turn into a full blown pressure campaign by the end of second Month. If Pakistan can withstand the upcoming pressure and hold the line, US will make huge concessions to try to buy the cooperation.

Pakistan should not yield to the upcoming pressure if they want the US to vacate Afghanistan.
