Pakistan garment makers chase rivals in India and Bangladesh

tbh...what would it take for us to learn how to make the machines that make garments?

for that Pakistan needs metallurgy academics, like we have in german and I am learning how to run and build such machines! My dream is to open a school or academy in Pakistan after my study in collaboration with the Pakistani government!

Yes . you are absolutely correct. India's textile industry has disappeared completely and all production has shifted to Pakistan. Just compare the figures

Pakistan's Industry Is Not The One Giving Ads In Indian Newspapers It's Yours

The key now is to produce.. Trained manpower.. The human machines that churn out finished product one after another.
Recent decline in rupee value coupled with uninterrupted power supply is gonna be attractive provided we sell it properly.
The power supply will only get better from next yr onwards as kanup 1, hubco thar, kanup 2 and small wind power projects come online. We just need a few more masood textiles, crescent textile and similar units to start a chain reaction.

We Have Export Development Funds Worth Rs 40 Billion Lying Unused. We Should Utilize That

Improving exports in this area has not much to do with local manufacturing of machines, if you see the production units the machines are from any of these companies brother, singer, pegasus, juki or one chinese company hell even made in Pakistan machines, and the cost is not out of this world. If one is serious, has some market repute refurbished units can even be bought on installments.

It has got more to do with the literacy and business awareness most of our businessmen in this line of business are in the age bracket of 45+ and the average literacy rate in this category is 38-46% and if you know what the definition of literacy in Pakistan is you'll know what the real problem is.

Second is knowing what quality the competition is producing for that you one needs to workout whom to target wallmart, JC Penny, macys, Gap, Broadway or Jermyn street (Mass market, high end market).

Then approaching those in an intelligible way with proper sample of equivalent or better quality in a competitive price oh did I mention an invitation to visit the production unit where the worker are being treated humanely and have decent work environment.

Bangladeshi and Indians are far ahead of us in these areas, but like I said earlier, I have faith in the competitive nature and perseverance of our people. Some of the industrialist in khi, lahore and faisalabad who have invested in their children education, knowledge and worker are making headway in this market.

Suiting we are doing pretty good, if you know lawrencepur does contract stitching for whom, zeitgeist does for whom, karim block lahore is famous for what, it is the shirt stitching we need to really get into but things are improving in that area.
