at present pakistan is totally dependent on china. I am sure the facts brought out in first post are known to pakistani establishment. they r continuing this relationship because of strategic value attached to it. i am sure they would have definitly liked a better trade deal, but pakistan is at such a point in history where it cannot demand a better deal.

chinese-pak friendship is totally india specific. it will continue to prosper till the time india occupies a place in world map.

I have said it before I'll say it again. Its stupid idea for Pakistan to have a free trade agreement with China. Since its inception, Pakistani rupee has taken a real beating. I hope Pakistanis understand what's going on. I understand that China is strategically important to Pakistan but economy is important as well. Otherwise it would turn out to be worse than Pakistan relationship with US.

There is truth to that last statement that I suspect many a pakistani shall agree. however, the thread I started was to show that - it hurts them ecnomically to have such a " blind faith/giving" position.

seperate note- I'd really like more pakistani participation in all honesty. Your economist seem to be saying one thing, but the general public is oblivious to the facts on the ground ( ecnomically speaking)

I have not dropped a single tear for you, I assure you that. This is from a pure economics perspective. But tell me why are you not interested? Do you think economics is a love story ? or business? . do you think your economy will improve on love and fresh air? Why not give a serious thought to the post and come back with a meaningful reply.
