In the disputed, if the strategically important area of Sir Creek, intelligence reports said, Pakistan has deployed an additional battalion of Marines and established two new posts.

The reports said the two posts are west of Pir Sahamadho Creek and in the area of Bandha Dhora and Harami Dhoro. The Pakistani Marines are involved in infrastructure development and bringing in special equipment.

The entire Pakistan Marines wing is deployed near Sir Creek. 1 Marine is in Sir Creek, the Marine Amphibious Wing is in Karachi and the 31 Creek Battalion is in Sujawal, close to the creek, about 120 km from Karachi. Pakistan has also placed three Marine Units in Gwadar, a port in Baluchistan where the Chinese have major economic interests. Both 2 and 3 Marine are in Gwadar and the 21 Air Defence unit is in Gwadar and also, in nearby Ormara, where the Pakistan Navy has a base.

The 100-km long Sir Creek area is disputed; Pakistan wants all of it, while India says the border should be roughly in the middle of the creek area. The Pakistan Marines have been in the area since August 1999, when an Indian Air Force MiG-21 shot down a Pakistani Atlantique reconnaissance plane well inside Indian territory. This was just after the Kargil war.

Talks between have Pakistan rarely led to a solution. On Sir Creek alone, India and Pakistan have had a dozen rounds of talks, the last one in 2012, without much success. India has been asking for the demarcation of the area according to current international law; Pakistan is insisting on third-party arbitration. But India has said Sir Creek is a bilateral issue and it has to be solved by the two countries. Which is why this marshy estuary remains under dispute

Ironic no? Kashmir is also a bilateral issue (counting China out) but India doesn't want talks so we also don't want talks :)

Same circumstances like Siachin, what is big about it ... don't want to solve on table, no issues ... we also have no hurry ... just linger on but stop this hype and :blah::blah::blah:.

a very misleading article
Pakistan has never demanded all of it
there are two different laws regarding riverine borders
India treats it as a river and asks that demarcation line should be in middle (according to one international law)
Pakistan says that since it is a tidal estuary (also true) riverine border law does not apply ........

BTW all of the disputed area i.e the area under consideration is uncontrollable by either side and issue is just semantic in nature ..... which was nearly resolved until Indian Govt. unilaterally refused to sign pre-negotiated and agreed agreement

India doesn't want talks regarding Kashmir due to infiltration of terrorists from Pak's side of LoC, how we were back stabbed regarding Kargil after the Vajpayee-Nawaz peace talks

Per your wiki article, it clearly says Pak claims the entire creek. Also, the creek has always been navigable which is why fishermen from both sides have been frequently arrested. From this, it is evident that all navigable channels can use the thalweg doctrine in international law

Pak should increase fire power in the area as marines so far have only light weapons with SAMs, may be we should deploy some light MBTs if possible along with IFVs along with better range SAMs. The proper PAF support should also be there.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Like if I bang your wife she'll call me her lover but you will ????
Well wanna watch probably lol hahahaha

We should focus on upgrading navy.I fear that decrease in defense budget may badly impact our navy which is already very neglected and is given very small portion of funds

what you entirely ignored in "my " wiki article is the side of arguments against Indian claims
it is only navigable in "high tide"

nevertheless ........ since the area under consideration is uncontrollable by either side and dispute is purely semantic ........... I see no reason to discuss it to death ............... everyone is welcome to live in their bubble..........
