Pakistan government must be waiting till all the coal fired plants are operational and also the dams which are currently under construction.

Major hydro dams under construction.

Karot hydro power Rawalpindi - 720mw
Suki kinari manshera - 820mw
Dasu Dam KPK - 2100mw
Mohammad dam kpk 800mw
Kohala project Ajk - 1124mw
Lowerspatga kpk - 496mw

Total - Approx 6100MW will be added in 3+ years time.

Also they have 15 small dams under construction

Then the government is free to shut oil fired power plants.

The government also has some major dams under proposal. If these are built then InshAllah we wont have electricity problem all through the 21st century.

Diamer Basha Dam Ajk - 4500mw
Athmuqam Dam ajk - 350mw
Mahl dam Ajk - 590mw
Chakothi Hathian Ajk - 500mw
Tarbela expansion - 1400mw
Bunji dam ajk - 7100mw
Patan dam - 2400mw
Thakot dam kpk - 4000mw
Akori dam punjab - 600mw

Total - approx 20,000MW

Shame about the Kalabagh dam.

One major disappointed is why didn't the governments make these dams before? Why did we have to suffer so much economic loss in order for them to take action? This is treachery
