So far I heard/read in forums, IAF jets (one MKI & two Mirage -H ) crossed the border at Punjab side headed towards Lahore in fully armed configuration. F-16 or/and F-7s (?) intercepted the IAF jets and ordered them to turn back.

MKI & M2ks did not break the formation nor did use any ECM further went ahead, which made PAF chief and political top brass nervous. After reaching some point IAF jets turned around and head back to Indian air space.

For posterity's sake.
The incident I will try to recreate as much as I can from what I heard follows.
Bogeys were detected approaching Pak airspace some 5-10 min within India.. Standard CAP's at the time(in place after Mumbai as precaution) were vectored close to the border but were not expecting a crossing.
Usual protocol of radio warnings were given and aircraft intercepted some 2km inside Pak airspace(in the no-man's airspace area)
It was a small attack formation escorted by MKI's. Usual IAF tactic of embedding escorts with attackers.
Aircraft locked on , tailed all they way to Kharian from where they turned back.

Throughout this incident the IAF escorts were jamming (whether this was effective or not is not certain but certainly had no effect on communication). The PAF brass alerted the president the moment those aircraft entered our airspace(as the commander and chief of the Pakistan armed forces is the president) and PM and ask them for permission to shoot down the intruders.. whose first reaction in panic was to call Washington and relay that India has started a war with us. From there the US diplomatic powerhouse went into frenzy calling GoI who then instructed the aircraft via MoD to stand down.
At any point throughout the episode Pakistani aircraft were well within parameters to ensure certain kills on the intruders.
Infact it was the rather simplistic nature of the intrusion that had PAF brass worried about this being a diversion.
