Wakhan corridor is not 100% safe but its the shortest route.. about 20 km strip...

The only way to Tajikistan is through Afghanistan, it would no be economic feasible to go around Afghanistan.

We would have liked that. It would have also benefitted Afghanistan as a perpetual source of income. More the trade, more income for Afghanistan.

But unfortunately Afghan government especially elements from Northern Afghanistan has been very hostile to Pakistan. Also, since it is a road, it will go through all type of areas including far off areas. At present security situation does not permit for fear-free transportation. There are always chances of attacks and illegal toll blocks.

I hope one day we will see a very peaceful and stable Afghanistan and Inshallah both brother countries will benefit from each other. As I said earlier, Afghanistan is in unique position to become a cross road of trade in this region. It will be our first choice. But only because of the mentioned problems, we have to take a longer route.

In time, Inshallah your country will be prosperous and good things will come your way.

How about establishing both routes with 25%-75% rule?

Ofcourse 75% goes through China and with time when things settle down in AFG, the traffic load can be divided on 50%-50% basis.
