How can you do that when the organization you want to export to is on the list of blacklisted firms?

SUPARCO and PAEC are ligit org. for Pakistanis, not for the Americans.

When exporting from America, you must follow the laws of America.

The man in question could never confirm the final destination of the material. It was a completely separate and opaque private agency based in Karachi that was dealing between him and PAEC. He was simply told that the material is going to PAEC, that's all.

Not saying that the material actually went to al Qaeda, but there's no way to confirm that it did not.

Secondly, if the material did go to PAEC, then PAEC is involved in illegal activity. The world forum will be quite justified in not allowing any sort of waiver to the PAEC or any such entity in Pakistan which is so untrustworthy that it engages in illegal activities.

The ban is in effect to prevent technology transfer to Muslim nations and Pakistan is a muslim nation which is why this ban is in effect - hope this resolves any issues , or concerns anyone had.

This is not any different than the Indian who open 500 credit cards, steal and then run to chennai, hydrabad, banglore, mumbai, etc etc..The fact that US is a gaint pot of ethic-less, moral-less, and principal-less people and stealing from them in every sense is justified.

Well evrybody knows PAEC does not reach out for materials, instead it reaches a third party and then negotiates with it. The third party could be ISI or some other organization.

Well its no different these bans and technological blocks were also done against Native Indians , as the occupiers tried to make sure that the Guns did not get into the hands of American Indians , again its a form of technology blockade. But eventually the guns reach the other side but by then the armies had cannons brought in form Spain/Britain etc and else where

Technology gap is vital and I think if we can't get something from US just get it from China or Russia as they are more open societies to technology cooperation.

Just for record its born right of every Pakistan to do trade with any nation in world

And specially cooperation and military pacts with neighboring countries is essential for existence for Pakistan

Well said...I was surprised at the list of equipment he has been charged for as every surplus yard has them for dime a dozen. The actual purpose of importing them from USA might have been to cut cost because surplus auctions goes for pennies on dollar. However, the transaction provide a ripe opportunity to stir anti-Pakistani agenda of Obama. And in such transactions, the seller always recived a commissions for his efforts to participate in auctions. Had it been a black market deal, the commission will be much higher may be 30-40% however the 5-7.5 percent figure in all sense is a fair amount which would be charged by any agent. There are many Pakistanis in USA engaged in the business of surplus machinery and electronic gear export as it is cheaper than buying new from the manufacturer.


The Obama administration is bent on proving Pakistan and PAEC as an infiltrator and they will point even to a battery wire with suspicion. Post 9/11 one of my relative son was arrested on "suspicion". The FBI went around the house, found some motorcycle batteries and charging wire and indicted him in bomb making intent. The result, five years wasted behind the bars and a man who hate USA more than anything. First thing he did after being released was catch a flight to Pakistan and throw away his US passport and milk as many credit cards of his dad he could. Now their house address in USA is blacklisted by all banks.
