dont know the purpose but good to know paf boys are playing with the new chinese toy.

In my point of view they are testing data communication link systems as Pakistan is going to get J-10B it means Pakistan interested to get this series JF-17, J-10B, J-20. Surely J-10 & J-20 already has tested in flying data communication so JF-17 now joined.

May be i am wrong but i didn't see something else; let’s wait comments from any military specialist.

You may well be right. The thing is we dont know at this stage what changes are there in block 2. It seems that the time scale is too short to make any major changes in the external appearance(barring nose design changes) but avionics is a different ball game altogether. So it may be possible that interoperability is being tested as well as trials of new avionics are on going at the same time.
