PAC – Pakistan Aeronautical Complex

Of course. Well I'll tell you this much; you better really love aerospace and math lol. It isn't for the faint hearted. IST can be a real meanie with grades and GPA. You will have a lower GPA than if you went to UET Taxila or something but don't worry about that too much. People will respect you for being an IST graduate and that will make up for it.

Also a general piece of advice. If you're not that committed you will get thrown out of IST pretty quickly (33 of the original 50 from my class graduated). Also, if by some miracle you manage to limp across the finish line its no good. Go in with the mindset of making your time there count. Be self driven. Do lots of interesting projects with good professors. Professors that are linked to organizations (Dr.Asif Israr (SUPARCO), Dr.Itezaz Qamar (KRL), Dr.Wilayat (KRL)).

Make connections in these organizations using these professors. You will find them extremely nurturing and very professional.
Thanks a lot man.
I finished my A-levels last year, and i do love Aerospace and my grade in maths ended my interest in maths.
I applied last right after exams but my NAT score wasnt high enough then and couldnt get in Aero but got for electrical which i didnt choose, a bloody blunder as i come to reflect on it. I didnt apply for UET as no aerospace there.

What wrong with Electrical?

I absolutely love aerospace and back then i had some misguided notion about electrical and kind of still do and on top of that IST offers only Telecom not Power and i am ignorant future prospects of both, so ......................

My degree title is Electrical (Telecommunication) Engineering
but i covered many subjects of Aerospace engineering.
even my final year project was related to Aerospace sensors.(Inertial Navigation System.)

As Saad said being in electrical (or Communication Systems Engineering as it was previously called or was during my time) doesn't mean you don't do Aerospace. A lot of my colleagues did aerospace related projects. Aerospace is a VERY broad field. Also after some real world experience I can tell you electrical engineers are the bomb. Embedded systems is something I have become very interested in. What ever you want to do you eventually have to move from simulations and onto actual hardware, which is microcontrollers, fpgas etc. Also my friends in SUPARCO who are electrical/CSE have much more interesting projects with them. They work on radars, guidance, telemetry, encryption, control.

P.S. If you're in IST you can rest assured you will have a lot to do with aerospace regardless of whether you're doing materials, electrical, mechanical, space sciences or aerospace.

Another thing offtopic
what was ur nat score?
I mean what is safe score?.
i got 75 last year got in electrical and now i have 83. I am absolutely hating the fact that i have to prepare from entire FSC syllabus for the Goddamned 30 subject questions which have nothing in common with A syllabus. The best score i got is by nailing the first 60 and then guessing through the subject part.
Should i prepare and aim for higher or it will get me through?
