What's new

Oil and natural gas sales accounted for 68% of Russia’s total export revenues in 2013

Let's buy up some more of those beautiful hydrocarbons.

At least until we can get our Shale production in full swing. Domestic Shale alone should last us 1000+ years at our current consumption rates (we have the largest reserves of Shale gas in the world).

But it will take decades before we can produce in the amounts we need.

I need some at a brotherly discount rate; which means 'free' ! :azn:

My gas heater isn't working; far too less gas pressure ! :(

LOL brother, we need several decades just before we can produce enough Shale for ourselves. :P Even thinking about exporting is a long way off.

We have colossal amounts of reserves in the ground, but the geography makes it difficult to extract.

Until then it is more cost efficient to simply buy in bulk from Central Asia (we got loads of pipelines), the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia.

You know China is currently the 5th largest regular oil producer on Earth. That's not Shale, but conventional oil.

And that's not even close to enough, we still have to import over 50% of our oil consumption.

I echo your thoughts
India & China are Russia's best buddies & should support her in these hard times

That's why I feel pessimistic about Russia's future

Fortunately Pakistan also have lots of shale gas and oil reserves, so China will only have to share tech :P

I think we have some Shale Reserves too; maybe some Joint-Venture can be thought up between our Governments to benefit us both.....no scratch that; to benefit 'me' - Damn its freezing here.
